Don't worry; the crunch comes from all the sea salt :detect:

Sausages, egg, beans and chips.

Hopefully the sausages formed a barrier keeping chips and beans apart ?

Looks like the Gaucho chain is calling in the administrators.

Sham, had a table booked at the Brum one for a couple of weeks time. Loved my meal in the Fitzrovia one a couple of years back

Any other good steakhouses in Central Brum?

went to the one in Richmond the other month ..I thought it was way over priced for what they served up , probably why people aren't going to their restaurants ..

Not central Brum but not too far from you.... lagrill on beeches walk, opposite the horse n jockey. Not the cheapest but great food cooked very well.

Went there recently.... it's worth listening to the hostess's amazing barbadian (I think) accent and she's rather a glamourous looking young lady too ?

Had my first day back training in a professional environment after 6 months out with injury.

Got home at midnight, woke up the next day, had uni.

Blah, blah, hadn't eaten for 13 hours since before training and uni is next to one of the best food hubs in Melbourne.

Next thing you know:

1 x Sweet and Sour Pork w Rice

2 x combination pork rolls

2 x dim sims

1 x vanilla slice

Walked in with calves like Grealish, walked out with a belly like McCormack.

That doesn't seem like a particular excessive meal.

The S&S Pork is easily two sittings alone, not just an average bowl.

And I often eat one of those rolls for lunch and I'm good, two would be an ideal amount.

But otherwise nothing monstrous, no.

fiesta del asado if you class that as central

anderson's is meant to be good

personally i dont think you can go that wrong at miller and carter

I think Gaucho will remain open while they find a buyer. Its Cau that s shutting immediately.

We've kept the Gaucho reservation open for dinner and also got The Ivy booked for lunch the same day.

Th Gaucho side of the company is still said to be profitable (as it should be at c£100 per head). Its the 'Cau' brand, the more budget friendly arm of the company that is making big losses. Its that segment which is having real problems as seen with Handmade Burger Co, Prezzo, Byron Burgers and Jamie's Italian all suffering recently.

post a review!

i've got lunch in Brum on the 31st, thinking maybe the canal house to try the hanging kebabs but could be easily swayed by the ivy (or purnells bistro but im not sure what their mid week lunches are like, sunday lunch is awesome in there)
