Seat68
Same as Dem here. Worse over here in Stafford. Definitely going to be some trees down. The positive is it's a non school run week for me so haven't got to drive through Cannock Chase.

sidcow Posted February 21, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted February 21, 2022 Maybe Solihull has missed the worst of it again, but a garden bench has blown over which didn't blow over at the weekend so I guess the winds have been stronger today. Not too far from me. Riddlesen sinkhole Yikes. Poor people, hopefully they have good insurance. That was down the road from our house before we moved. There's a National Trust property (400 or 500 years old house) right next door to that street and on a hill right above the river. Hope that's alright. Seat68
Hilarious as it is, it's bin day and people put their bins out and went off to work. I now know that my neighbours aren't big on recycling.

We considered buying a house at the other end of the road.

Demitri_C
Does anyone else think we have had a mildish winter? Not saying its been warm by any means but compared to years and years ago i think its been ok. You oldies born in 70s and beyond that must be able to confirm this also? It's definitely been mild, but winters are getting milder, seemingly. I think it was 1982, that was a crazy winter, the worst in my lifetime for snow. I lived in Donnington, Telford and I have never experienced snow that deep before or since. This year aside from wind, it mizzled a bit.
Rodders
milder, but wetter. Though cardiff is always wet, so not sure that's saying much 'The beast from the east' type snow falls are going to be once a decade if that type affairs
