  1. Whoops. The Russians have been fairly liberal with other nations airspace and coastal waters recently - the response could be interesting. It also highlights what an unstructured mess the response to ISIS is. (Of course the Kremlin will deny the plane was anywhere near Turkish airspace)
  2. Perhaps bigoted was the wrong word - maybe "lacking in social enlightenment" is a better turn of phrase.
  3. I'm so confused. I don't know what I'd do. To me - the girl in the pictures above is a girl - and a very attractive one at that. You like who you like - I don't know how I'd react at handling or being asked to handle someone else's weapon though. If she was a fully transitioned transgender person I don't think I'd have an issue - but you never really know until your in the situation. And yeah - in 25 years time we're all going to look like massive bigoted arseholes for even having this discussion. (assuming we don't already despite the obvious efforts to mitigate that fact)
  4. Almost as if they needed them to be onside in order to use the music. If you take it as a vanity piece its ok - but a balanced view of what really happened it certainly ain't
  5. Finally saw Jurassic World at the weekend. There are dinosaurs. They eat people. Visually its fine but it felt just as cold and planned as the park itself before it all goes tits up. And the body-cooling, stealth camouflaging super dinosaur is bullshit of the highest order. 6/10
  6. I understand why Labour as a wider party elected him. It was a rejection of the shiny polished substance-lite of Bliar and Call-Me-Dave but he is no more of a credible Prime Minister than Michael Foot was. Labour's key problem is that the ethos is inarguably positive for the vast majority of the population - but once folks are in that booth it takes an awful lot of persuading (or a monumental Tory **** up c.1997) to get elected. Far easier to be "I'm alright Jack" on election night than worry about the greater good.
  7. In case it hasn't already been said. Socks (or stockings - they're at least up to his knees there) and sandals. The man is a monster and must be stopped.
  8. I'd have had the English since in English and the French sing in French. ITV and 5Live both screwed the audio though - or is it that Wembley just has awful accoustics?

    Gym Routine

Good stuff, i usually do 3 sets of BW to failure then 20kg around waist 3 sets to failure. Although ive cut down on pullups now as had more growth from rows and blitzing arms twice a week. If people cant lift their own BW and claim they are (lean) and they frequent the gym often then im afraid you need to man the f*uck up. **** off mate I'm going to encourage people at the gym struggling to do pull ups to scream at themselves for their lack of effort and their need to grow a pair. That'll help them to do it surely?? The "Gunnery Sergeant Hartman" approach to motivation.
  10. What an absolute bunch of helmets. **** 'em.
  11. You really are a funny kind of grown up Ruge.
  12. You are probably right. I mean it definitely makes more sense to have poor communication on the pitch, in the dressing room and at BMH. In a potentially divided dressing room short of confidence ensuring everyone speaks the same language is absolutely guaranteed to make things worse. Especially when it's a language none of them can speak. It's certainly it going to help those French players adjust to loving and working in England. What a fool Garde is, I can't believe he hasn't followed Wenger's example and made everyone only speak French. Ray Palour, Merson and Tony Adams all clearly benefited from it. So to ensure communication is solid, languages need to be banned? Surely a better way to increase communication and indeed team morale might be for the English players to help the french players speak English and at the same time gabby and Co could learn another language themselves. I didn't say languages need to be banned, I rather suspect Garde didn't either but it makes for a good headline especially for certain elements of the media. Are you seriously trying to argue that the rest of the squad should learn French, despite probably having no grounding in it in order to help these players make the transition. And that that is a better idea than the French players, most of whom already actually speak English and all of whom have at least some English use that language. The language of the country they are now living and working. Never mind the fact there are more English speakers than French, lets cancel training two days a week and get a language tutor in and they can learn to ask where the bakery is. I'm sure that will help us mark on corners. What about the other nationalities? Do the rest of the squad need to learn Spanish as well as French? I'm sorry but this criticism is just a little daft and actually seems like criticism for the sake of it. Wenger insisted on English back in 1996 and so i'd imagine does just about every other overseas manager working in this country, just as I'm sure is the case all over Europe the domestic language is the language of the dressing room. How would a little clique of players speaking in French to each other help the morale exactly? I think you've missed the point completely. I'm not saying that the team shouldnt speak English. I said in an earlier post that it's important to recognise that AVFC is an english club but we should also celebrate diversity. I'm not for one minute suggesting that gabby needs to or actually could learn French. I'm not even sure he could speak any slower either. What I am suggesting tho is that instead of saying 'the english players need to speak slower' it might have been wiser to say something along the lines of: 'We have a range of different cultures and languages in the dressing room however it's important that we can all sing from the same hymn sheet. The predominant language in the dressing room will of course be English and everybody is working towards that. The english lads are helping out the french lads and I think the english lads are even learning a bit of french themselves'. That would certainly sound a bit more welcoming than 'The english lads need to speak slower'. Isn't that essentially what he said? I think you are overly worrying about semantics.
  13. Of course it hasn't got better since Tim - we've had two games since with a bloke in charge who was sacked by Swindon. Who picked a team that every single Villa fan could see was simply awful and not fit for the job in hand. What were you expecting. I agree in part that the playing staff need to shoulder some of the burden. Guzan has been awful this season because he isn't challenged, Lescott looks like he's here to top up his pension. Richardson shouldn't be allowed near the team and Sanchez has been simply woeful since he arrived. Our best players yesterday were on the bench. A starting XI including Amavi, Okore, Vertout, Ayew and Gana puts a totally different spin on the team.
  14. I think you will find we need a lot more than calmness. 11/12 half decent players would be a start. We've easily got 11/12 decent players in the squad that could and should keep us up - even now. This team is so much better than its current state. We need to try and grab something from the next two games - use that time for Garde to get his head around the task in front of him and start to implement a plan to move us forward.
  15. I'm not getting into who is right and who is wrong here - but I strongly recommend listening to the latest Aston Villa Review Podcast where Steve interviews an Arsenal fan about Almstadt.

    New manager

It doesn't mean there is a 60% chance of him coming at all. It means lots of people have put money on the fact he will be the next manager and then bookies have adjusted the price accordingly.
  17. Lucky they've got that £1bn contingency fund really isn't it.

    New manager

Ennit. Although seemingly, nothing has. Limpid had to go down Nisa to top up his 'leccy card.
  19. The ****ing ****s in the callcentre of my ****ing mortgage company who can't ****ing well work out that I don't have a dependent child over the age of 18 living with me because I'd had to have been 13 for the ****er to have been my kid. There is no ****ing kid. Three ****ing times I've had the same farcicle conversation with the ****ers. Also as a result of the conversation above my director coming out of her office to ask why she can hear the work ****tard being shouted.

    New manager

He wouldn't even entertain the idea. I refuse to believe the OP believes there is the remotest possibility that Mourinho would even talk to Fox about the possibility of thinking about starting initial discussions. We wouldn't even get passed Jose's agent.
