You sure its legit? I',m speaking from a position of total ignorance here but HMRC collect duty not the company themselves. Also IIRC (and I may not) you can "import" stuff up to a threshold before being liable for duty? I'd tell "fed-ex" to piss off and that they can refer the matter to HMRC if they believe the matter is not resolved.
  2. Exactly. Randy will force someone into buying the club and we will all live happily ever after.
  3. Win all of those and we're pretty much safe 27pts + 5pts = 33 with another 10+ games to pick up the remaining few points to see us home.
  4. Fury has told the Beeb that Haye can whistle for it - he won't fight him after Haye ducked him twice a couple of years ago.
  5. I work from home 1 days a week as a minimum and Mrs E views it is an additional weekend day/bonus day off. It caused weekly disputes when I remind her I, you know, have to work. Productivity wise its great I get loads done.....shame it dramatically impacts the chance of a fumble later. Not sure why input this in this thread really.
  6. Why are people getting so bent out of shape about the $15m. The kids family won't get anywhere near it. Sue for a really big number, annoy, irritate and harass public bodies and they'll guarantee a settlement for a small to moderate number. No fault or liability will be admitted. The family walk off with a couple of $m and the cops/school system get to forget it happened drama free.
  7. I don't think wanting a fairer society makes you a "loon" - its a semantics argument about what "fair" actually is. Are they? They are connected with the proportion of the electorate who could be arsed to join the Labour Party to elect him as leader - I'm not sure you can argue anything beyond that given the ongoing incompetence and lack of political awareness on display since.
  8. I think he's seen the hype Fury has been getting and wants a piece of that action. He'll push over his rent-a-bum opponent in January and then set up (or try to) some sort of British Heavyweight superfight with Fury. Expect him at ringside at the weekend in Germany.
  9. If your jokes require that level of explanation - then you've misjudged either your audience or how funny it was. Hardly surprising the easier "Commie quotes Mao in attempt to be funny" headlines have emerged instead.
  10. I'm not reading them on principle. Finish ASOIAF first beardy, Then write your spin offs.
  11. As they said on the Storm of Spoilers podcast - the book will drop 2 weeks before the TV show is due. Cue the massive hype/meltdown
  12. To paraphrase the great Malcolm Tucker "sacked after a week he's [the PM] **** up. Sacked after a year you've **** up."
  13. Thats all very well but the game (and the world and society) are barely recognisable nowadays. We used to have overt racism and homophobia on TV but it doesn't mean its ok to do it now.
  14. My bad Blandy. Didn't get the context.
  15. I'd say shooting down a Russian plane could be seen as an act of aggression on Turkey's side. I have no idea if the NATO charter applies to wars of aggression as well as in the event of attack.
  16. Not much. I have a feeling they'd be left to get on with it. NATO won't square off openly against the Russians over something so trivial as Turkey EDIT - Thanks Hitz. Brain fart.
  17. Ignoring your snarky at best dig over the page here is a breakdown 1) Regardless of what he did or didn't do the issue is what his behaviour represents. Whether you think heading out on the piss after a 4-0 stuffing where you personally swanned around doing very little for 74 minutes is acceptable or not - it demonstrates a staggering lack of awareness towards the feelings of fans and (although we don't know for sure) the management. It also shows you learned absolutely nothing from the summer where the media reported you passed out in the street. 2) He did put himself there but to accuse an entire fan base of not working as hard as or sacrificing enough is crass at best and utterly disgusting at worse. Jack is in an exceptionally privileged position at 20 he earns in a week what the average person earns in a year. To demonstrate some social awareness or basic humility is not much to ask, especially when your wages are funded by the public - either by Sky subs or ticket sales. 3) What he does outside of "work" reflects on the club just as much as what he does on the pitch. See the lawyer recently sacked for mouthing off about Liverpool fans as an example. 4) Yes. We are. No-one is saying he can't enjoy his life but again - earning what he does and having the profile that he does requires him to make certain choices. Earning the money he does he should be more than prepared to sacrifice a few drinks and a few nights out. If he wants a "normal" existence of a 20 year old he is in the wrong career. Jack should be aspiring to be Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain. Young, talented and more than able to keep their noses clean away from the sport. Its not hard. You're new here - and without wishing to do the Mods work for them you might want to re-read the house rules again and consider the tone you are adopting.
  18. I'm not attempting to divert any responsibility from Jack at all. He needs to moderate his behaviour 100%. Good management however will provide him with the tools to enable him to do it. Since he clearly lacks those himself.
  19. Jack should be dropped on the basis of his performance on Saturday against Everton. His performance in the nightclub should merit a meeting with the Garde, the reading of the riot act and the setting of some very clear expectations. All followed swiftly by Duverne running his arse ragged in training. Talk of "leaving the club" at this point is beyond pathetic - he needs managing and properly. Nothing more.
  20. I was in the "he's a kid - its fine" camp in the summer and I stand by that point of view. I doubt for Jack this is an infrequent occurrence and perhaps when Sherwood was in charge we didn't get to hear about it - but now Garde is in charge and we are just awful its become a story. I had assumed Garde will impose a Wenger style booze ban (maybe he has) and the club's response to this will be interesting. Jack's problems this season are nothing to do with the summer. They are in his head - he thinks he's made it. Garde needs to remind him otherwise.
  21. Grealish is a microcosm of what really worries me about this team and our current situation. In previous season we've bumbled about in the lower half without anyone really giving a shit and by and large the press have left us alone. Now we are bottom - we are the story. Next up on MOTD after the title race. There is a danger the media narrative will become "and now its time to remind you all quite how shit the Villa are" The level of scrutiny and attention this team is about to and continue to get will be nothing like any of them have experienced before and IMO they will crack and crack hard. Jack strolling about on Saturday and then getting smashed the night afterwards is the tip of the iceberg. Garde has a massive task on his hands getting something out of this talented but mentally fragile squad we have.
  22. ......and with laughable predictability there indeed is the Russian denial. The Turks would have to be pretty certain to take action IMO, you don't **** with the Russians unless you are sure of yourselves.
  23. The problem Corbyn has got is that the Labour Party vote who put him in the leadership seat ALSO put the less left wing MPs in place less than 6 months before. Corbyn's mandate comes from the rejection of the more centrist Miliband approach after an electoral humiliation. (Not in terms of scale but the political equivalent of missing an open goal) The views of the wider Labour party and the grass roots now don't matter one jot for another 4.5 years or until the PLP break Corbyn. He's got to work with what he has and he's making a total horlicks of it at the moment.
