  1. You won't like the reason (its the French at fault) but cycling has always used kmh as a measure. Mostly because the centre of the sport is mainland Europe but also I think because for man powered events its easier to determine speed in kmh and avoid decimal points etc.
  2. To fair to Ramsey - he's got a habit of bumping off arseholes - fair play to the man.

As long as we don't have to sing the last verse. No no. Just that verse. The rest is too religiousy
  4. Eh? Why would it? And how is two presses better than one on the full stop key? It's not really. Just that my touch screen typing habits are creeping into my "proper" typing.
  5. The fact that double pressing space bar on my PC keyboard doesn't result in a full stop.
  6. The role of the Chairman is hiring and firing the CEO so I'd hazard a guess at yes. AND CAN WE ALL DROP THIS "FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE BULLSHIT." It's really not relevant.
  7. Numbered for clarity Yep I'd agree because the structure in place appeared to be Randy => MON. Poor recruitment. Not poor operational structure Poor financial management/poorly run business not necessarily a problem with the structure although I absolutely accept a link Nothing to do with the corporate structure of the club. A better manager than Sherwood would have achieved more with these players. You're not focusing on the corporate stucture but the crux of the point appears to be that the structure is a shambles because it hasn't yielded an improvement.
  8. Evidence of what? Because the outcome on the pitch and the corporate structure of the business are not as closely aligned as you seem to think. The CEO of Sainsbury's is not directly responsible for a pack of mouldy tomatoes on the shelf in one of his shops - or even one the stores burning down.
  9. Your failure to understand corporate structures generally or Villa's in particular doesn't make it a shambles. If Hollis comes in and achieves the "culture of continuous improvement" mentioned in the statement he will have been a roaring success.
  10. What a load of overly sentimental bobbins. The "proud name" of Aston Villa has got bugger all to do with league position, ownership, net spend, "real football people" of any of the other tripe expelled from the mouths of bed wetting hand wringers at times like this. We've been relegated before - we were still Aston Villa. Strap on a pair.
  11. Does he pick the team? Motivate the players? Identify new ones? Randy is not the only turd in this particular cesspool. Hard to argue lack of money when the first season in 5 that he has spent big ££ is the one that will see us down.
  12. I'm not really aiming to do either. I suppose I'm commenting how £47m can be conveniently forgotten about for the purposes of a somewhat limited argument. But since you went there - Randy did what he was supposed to do - make a significant amount of money available to Sherwood to build the squad. I'd also argue that overall the players who came in are/were of the required standard. The problem was Sherwood is such a piss poor manager he failed miserably to build a team.
  13. I was once subbed off after 25 mins of a school 2nd XI match. I have football experience. Does that make me suitable? EDIT - this football experience thing is the biggest load of crap going. Its a meaningless platitude dropped by knobheads in the media and ex-players to maintain some sort of bizarre exclusivity to a game that has become more and more commercial over the last few years. Gabby has masses of "football experience" and I wouldn't trust him to leave the house fully dressed let alone run a football club.
  14. We also had an actual spend of something like £55m
  15. Another one: Can we please have "football man/person" replaced with "media approved twonk" Ta
  16. In before it gets mainstrem. Hollis OUT.

I'm fully supportive of dropping GSTQ once the old dear goes - I can't bring myself to sing that about Charlie Boy and it seems like a good time to change. The English/British National Anthem should of course be: I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
  18. I run my FB and Twitter very differently. Facebook is for family, friends and more civilised discussions that I'm happy for Mrs E to see. Twitter is for complaining about football and sounding off about stuff and never the twain shall meet. EDIT - To keep this OT - SHA fans are arseholes.

So are you back in Lodz then?
  20. So he bloody well should playing in the Championships mid table. Adama is going to look like Pele with rocket boosters.
  21. Worth mentioning again I said the POV was stupid. The House Rules prevent me from saying that you are.
  22. Its an impossible situation this isn't it. We have plenty of "PL experience" () in the team and we should now be playing the kids ready for next season. We play the kids ready for next season and the fanbase would be in uproar about the lack of experience players getting a game. "How can you play him when *insert name here* is sat on his arse on the bench"
  23. I think its unfair to criticise a player who has played less than half a season in a brand new country and league. There's an argument that it would be harsh to judge him after a full season. Ozil has taken 3 seasons to really get going in the PL - yes some hit the ground running straight away but to buy a player and after 17 games (a fact there for you) to decide that they're not good enough and to get rid only to start the whole process again is not only stupid its down right ridiculous. Especially when the guy has arguably been our best midfielder this season in a position that isn't a problem for the club. I'd also suggest that if someone calling your opinion "stupid" upsets you so much you might not be ready to use the internet -much less frequent discussion/message boards.
  24. The fact he's played less than half a season or the fact he's been injured? Which one is wrong?
