I think its more than that.
You might be a fan and feel that it is "your" club but the stark reality is that that point of view is utterly incorrect.
(League) Football and the working man's game at the heart of your community is stone dead. Never to be revived. You are a customer in the entertainment industry - no different to and actually less important (from a business point of view) than people who wander through the turnstiles at Disney or Alton Towers.
Regardless of that - the personal abuse levelled at fans/managers is unacceptable. It was with McLeish, it was with Lambert, and Sherwood and it still is now with Garde. You don't go to DisneyLand and call Mickey Mouse a word removed when Thunder Mountain is closed. You don't go to a restaurant and scream at the chef when your burger is not cooked how you like it.
Richards' reaction of the fans on Saturday was admirable. I was proud of him as our Captain for putting himself in that situation in the face of outright hostility to approach the fans and try to diffuse the atmosphere.
Fair play lad.
