  1. It says nothing we didn't already know apart from "Waaaaaaaaah the club have stopped me writing articles after I criticised them" The sourest of sour grapes from a notorious, albeit passionate plank.
  2. Hard paper round was it mate?
  3. He saved us last year..... which was great. Thank you Tim, but when Superman stops Lois Lane plummeting to her death he doesn't fly a few feet higher and let her go again.
  4. So much THIS. I can't work out why the sudden strop except the fact they've stopped asking him to write a column in the programme. Its understandable if he is being public critical of the ownership in other areas. Also to be clear Tom Fox's job title is Chief Executive Officer - not DoF as Stan states in his statement.
  5. It looks great but then its a JJ film so it was always going to. I just hope he gets more depth into the film than he managed with the two Star Trek re-boots. I'm excited.
  6. We beat Swansea 4-0 this weekend then what?? Another squadron of pigs will be refuelled and ready for take off at BHX.
  7. If we were going to find that out wouldn't we have done so in Episodes 1-3? We've blown up a second Death Star since.
  8. This is your semi regular reminder that the odds offered by bookmakers are in no way representative of the actual probability of an even occurring. Also managers markets are notoriously volatile and small so even £50 here and there would have an impact on the prices offered.
  9. The Labour Party just elected a leader with over 50% of the vote on the first ballot. That is almost unprecedented with a field of four candidates. The Labour Party itself is probably less divided than at most times in its history on that evidence. The media however will tell you differently the Parliamentary Party vote wasn't revealed but estimates are that he only secured around 10% of it .... doesn't that suggest a party with a split if 90% of his colleagues didn't back him .. that's before you factor in all those that refused to serve in his shadow cabinet and the 20 who voted against him on Syria (and 21 who went awol at the vote) I don't doubt the media are trying to paint a picture but to suggest Labour aren't a divided party is very strange ..VT's ( ex ) two most famous Labour supporters are even vocal about him killing the party on FB etc All of that will hopefully lead to a new kind of Labour Party. Trouble is Blair didn't sell the Party's soul to the wider electorate - he sold it to business interests and the Murdoch press. There won't be a "new" kind of Labout Party, they've had a taste and liked governing too much and the way to do that is from the Centre. Far too many people in politics aren't ideologically pure - they're their to be in charge, run things and hopefully bank a few quid in the process.
  10. I thought this weeks News Quiz on R4 summed up the current issues with the Labour leadership. Corbyn is running the party like a newly elected student union rep rather than a convincing candidate for Prime Minister summed the situation up rather well. Its a real shame that Labour's most politically credible and spiritually appropriate leader for a generation has the presentation of a geography teacher with questionable sexual preferences.

The media however will tell you differently Clearly this is a semantic issue Dem is refering to the PLP as opposed to card carrying members or the £3 brigade.
  12. Personally I think a lot of Tim's current problems are based on the fact he is a tactical simpleton. He doesn't know what to do and even when he stumbles across a formula that gets us into promising positions he can't then make the subtle changes required to maintain a winning position. He bought the players - he must have had a plan for the system he then wanted to use them in

I've just paid off my student loan (A little over 10 grand total) 12 years after I graduated. It must be totally horrifying leaving uni now in debt to the tune of £50k. Especially when mortgage companies (as of last year) factor it into their affordability calculations. My first year at uni was the best time of my life but certainly not worth £50k.
  14. You are very much in dreamland. The supporter buyout model failed miserably at non-league Ebbsfleet and would be an unmitigated catastrophe at Aston Villa.
  15. That is the perfect summation on the man - but I guarantee none of his media chums will call him out over it.
  16. Cheers for the patronising response though. Very well written. You came across as a right dick Hey, you started it. I tried to ensure nothing could be misconstrued so thank you. I don't understand, my name's not Richard. Please take this in the spirit it's written in. I didn't think I still needed to put winkys on everything. Considering you have political aspirations you may want to review how you respond to perceived challenge.
  17. It appears I did underestimate just how awful this pitch it.
  18. Sherwood is a massive Banker. Of the Merchant variety.
  19. Pundits always back managers. Even when managers eventually get sacked, they still side with them. I think you'd struggle to find many examples of mainstream pundits calling for managers to be sacked. Its the old boys club. Its a cabal of similar minded blokes in the same industry. Noone speaks directly or negatively about anyone because it shines light on the rest of them and how farcically stupid they are. No different to talking to a group of bankers about the intelligence of giving bonuses. You're not going to get a contrary opinion that acts against the collective interest.
  20. Timmy C is the heir to 'Arry's throne. A top football geezah who likes the sound of his own voice, always happy to talk and good for a quote. They'll look after him for as long as possible because its better than the alternative. If Klopp proves to be a big hit and starts a flame war with Jose, they'll soon get over Timmy and give him a good old fashioned back page shanking.
  21. England will lose this test. The Ashes taught us that they bottle it in the face of scoreboard pressure and will do so again here. The openers will scratch around for a few runs before getting spun out, the knobheads in the middle order will swing the bat about like its a 20/20 game and the tail will wag just enough to highlight how bad the rest of the batting line up is just in time to be all out for 200.
  22. £50m is not enough to be better than Watford............really Really.
  23. It is monumentally simplistic to just say "should have spent more money and we wouldn't be in this mess." You could offer players all the money in the world, but if they don't want to come - they won't. Aston Villa has hardly been a glittering prospect for several seasons now and every manager has had to deal with this. IMO the "young and hungry" philosophy is partly born out of a realisation that we could not and would not attract players of the required standard from similar leagues..... its like the spotty 22 year old boy sniffing round 16 year old girls after school. No chance of getting a gf his own age so go for the ones who'd be flattered by the attention of an older, established lad. Ironically though, "young and hungry" is going to be the only way out. We can't compete with other clubs in terms of prospects for success. You'd have to be nuts to turn down West Ham, Stoke and that ilk to come to Villa if given the choice, and we don't have the money to over pay wages to level the playing field. Add this to a manager who is hugely questionable, both tactically and in terms of experience and you have yourself a perfect shit storm. They only thing the club CAN change at this point is to improve the management, planning and tactics on the pitch, and it is essential they do so, sooner rather than later. Sherwood Out.
  24. Equally its no surprise that a bad manager with a better team than outs achieves better results. You could argue that Spurs team achieved inspite of Tim as opposed to because of him.
  25. No I want Villa to win every game in all circumstances. Decisions about the management shouldn't be taken on the basis that he was given 2 games to save his job and failed. Its ridiculous. If he's got two games sack him now and get someone in who might just deliver a result.
