That’s fine… but how much is it?! Cups vary in size 😳

It doesn't actually matter in terms of baking to be honest. As long as everything is done in the same size cups, then everything will be proportionate.

But to actually answer the question, a cup is 236.58824g :)

That's not a great example :D

You break them first and it goes in the cup. But also in recipes using cups you use amount of eggs, not cups.

I actually bake quite often using cups, it works well.

Where it gets slightly frustrating is that a typical us measuring cup is 240ml, whereas in the UK, they're made 250ml.

But if it's something I'm measuring with a cup, being 4% off is no big deal.

Now, sticks of butter...

Which is amusing, because the cups are probably more accurate. How much is 1 egg? They vary in size:D

I also get annoyed by "1 carrot", "3 shallots"... Give me the grams

Yes that's true too. Generally if you take a standard mug size and use that for everything in the recipe as your basis it should be fine.

This recipe is infuriating though.

When converted, all of the cup values for different ingredients are different ffs :D And the flour is very off.

AND why is metric for teaspoon abbreviated and for imperial the full word!?

Here in California we measure speed in furlongs per fortnight.

Americans think fortnight is an online game (and nothing else).

Well I've found out my bail date is likely to be extended by another 3 months, so 9 months in total by the end. Why has it been extended? Limited police resource. I'm not entirely sure that's my fault lads, I didn't vote for the cutbacks.
