Things that piss you off that shouldn't

No, I think with Klopp and Liverpool it is something a little more than just winning trophies. There really does seem to be a bond between him and the fans that is more than just winning trophies. It maybe something he's manufactured but also maybe not.

Sure winning trophies and playing the brand of football that they do means a lot but Klopp goes a little off piste every now and again. He's an old punk, he turns up in random pubs on his own and just chats to people, he's just not a normal football manager, he likes going to his local and having a pint, he understands the whole Hillsborough thing, he's a bit of a lefty politics wise.

It’s hard to put your finger on but I think there is more to it than just on the pitch, there’s definitely a bond there a little different to the normal fan / manager thing.

You will have more first hand experience of this, so I’ll have to concede to an extent. I’m willing to believe Klopp has bought into Liverpool (the city) and all that goes with it. And that the supporters see that. Fair enough.

But I think him buying into it wouldn’t mean much if they had won bugger all while he was in charge. Admittedly it’s hard to prove as managers don’t tend to stay too long if they haven’t been successful.

Basically I think Roy Hodgson could have had the Liver bird tattooed across his back but if results didn’t improve, the gesture wouldn’t mean much to supporters.

Why do grown men, men who look like civilised , normal, relatively well spoken, think that if you're within one mile of a football stadium or game that it is now acceptable to piss in public?

Especially ones who have to pull their trousers and pants down at the same time 🤣

Same, but it's not envy at the youth. Thank god I'm no longer that **** dumb.

Total opposite for me. I live on campus with a bunch of students mostly 18-22 years old and absolutely love it. It's great to hang out with people so energetic and who actually still have loads of optimism about life, instead of the teachers who just complain about everything. Occasionally it makes me feel old, but mostly I feel younger

Last night, the missus wanted to watch the Doc Martin Xmas/final episode. So I went onto ITVX. Soon as I clicked on the programme I got a "There is a problem with your internet" message. Clearly nonsense, as I could use all other streaming services, and even other programmes on ITVX. Tried using the app on my phone - and that worked. But when I tried Chromecasting it to the TV, it worked, but was unwatchably glitchy (other programmes would cast without problem). Tried clearing cache and restarting both TV and phone, but still the same. Abandoned the plan, and watched something else.

Meanwhile, I raised it with their tech support team, and got a "Have you tried switching it off and on again?" email. Pffft.

Anyway, just tried it again this afternoon, and it now works. Dunno what the problem was, but I'm damn sure it was at their end, not mine.

Too many people with no taste having a similar idea at the same time

I have no particular axe to grind with Doc Martin. Wouldn't be my choice of viewing, but for what it is, it's pretty well made. Don't mind seeing it occasionally. Besides, I've had plenty of my choices on over Christmas.

I'd be surprised if it was suddenly oversubcribed at that particularly time, I'd imagine most of its target audience would have watched when broadcast.

Either way, they need better error handling. If it's an issue of high demand, they should have a "Too many viewers, try again later" message.

Sounds like you switched it off and on again to me.

Can't remember if I mentioned it on here but a couple of months ago I started playing football again for a local Saturday team. Was chuffed to be back involved and started my first match for them (in goal) in a cup game. We won the game and I got man of the match so I was chuffed, however I caught the ball awkwardly very early on and broke my finger. I played the rest of the game as it didn't really hurt, I just immediately noticed I couldn't move it.

Rather than wait in A&E for 12 hours for them to tell me to strap it up, I decided to leave it. I was seeing a physio 2 days later (for a different issue) so I just thought I'd ask him about it to make sure it was just a break and nothing more sinister.

I did that, and the physio confirmed that it was almost certainly broken, just strap it up or splint it and it'll be fine. He also checked it weekly when I saw him for the next month, each time saying it was fine and it would heal, even though it still looked swollen and I couldn't move it.

After 6 weeks I wasn't happy that it showed no signs of healing so I booked in to see a specialist, that appointment was yesterday.

Turns out it's not just broken, it's broken, dislocated and there's a chunk of bone missing. They're booking me in for surgery next week to realign it and to give me a bone graft which will need to be pinned. Also, because it's been 2 months since the injury, it'll almost certainly not go back to normal, and I may end up with a fused finger if it's particularly bad.

So yeah, I'm not pissed off at the injury, I'm pissed off at the physio for making me think it was just a simple break and leaving it so long. I guess I should still have gotten it checked anyway but you'd think a Physio would be able to give you pretty solid advice

I guess you’re also pissed off at the fact the Tories have run the NHS into the ground as you’d have otherwise gone to A&E knowing you’d be seen in a reasonable amount of time.

I wonder how many people are putting of getting things checked because they don’t want to open themselves up to the hell of trying to see their GP or going to hospital.

Yep that's true. It's definitely the reason I didn't go to A&E. I didn't want to sit there for hours and hours just for them to tell me to strap it up, and didn't want to add to the business with "just" a broken finger

I guess that's partly my fault, but still

Also @Stevo985for things like that you could visit the minor injuries ward at Tamworth’s Sir Robert Peel hospital. They don’t have doctors but they do have nurses and x-ray.

I took my daughter a couple of weeks ago as she managed to catch her friends pencil with her eye at school. We were seen in 45 mins.

Solihull Hospital is resuming its minor injuries unit shortly which was closed down during Covid.

Because sending more people to fewer A&E units in a time of medical strain was a really great idea.

From the same logic as making it harder to see a GP and 111 telling everyone to go to A&E instead.
