People who salute at magpies...

Superstitious nobs

I did it when I was a teenager, then spontaneously decided to stop one day when I was 18.

Within a few hours I'd been arrested, and was in trouble through a combination of bad judgment and bad luck.

I've saluted (even if via a covert head scratch) ever since.

Had to go to my teams

Stopped reading here :D

To be honest, if I had a job where I was described as being part of a team (unless playing for the villa), then I would also sit there and not have much to say.

Well that was **** horrific.

It ain' just work, I think I know where my anti-social demeaour stems from.

Me moms 60th tonight, just a few drinks and a curry and then home...you would think, my mom went mad at my sister for putting balloons up, my dad wanted to kill the bloke who served the food (because he put the curry on the plate before the rice, I do agree with my dad but if wasn't complaint worthy) and I'm sure my sisters fella was on the sniff, had massive problems with uber, and then I finally got home

At one point I just got up and walked outside for a few minutes cuz it was doing my head in that much.

In the grand scheme of things that doesn't sound too bad, I have condensed that massively, it was **** horrible, at some point of the night every single person has had s full on row with someone else...i just don't understand it.

Any other Friday night equals 8 cans of Stella, a bag of nuts, a curry and music, that is infinitely more appealing to me that socialising  (even with family)

I know I always say it but a few years ago I would have been bang in the middle of it, **** me I would have been the cause of the chaos and it would have been on a much grander scale than that but these days...i just wanna be left alone.

Can't say I blame you for avoiding the family rows, but sitting on your own drinking eight cans of Stella is not good. Socialising with other people is far healthier - the problem seems to be finding the right people to socialise with.

In line with the clearly universally shared love for hippy travellers I would like to say that while I don’t salute them, as such, I do say good morning to them and count them - one for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl and four... etc. I know it’s billed and all that, but my inner Attenborough loves nature and birds and it’s nice to acknowledge the wonders of the natural world. Mind you, if they **** on my car they can **** right off

Until I read the latest posts in this topic I had never in 52 years ever witnessed or even heard of anyone saluting Magpies

You generally been an urban dweller?

I read the two blocked out words both as the same f word **** as I know you can type 'shit'.

I thought, well how often does he catch magpies shagging on his car?

Looking at the amount of cars stuck and sliding around in the snow and ice outside my window, I can't help think is everyone's journey really necessary today? I know some will but its like friggin' Piccadilly Circus outside. Just stop at home  - its a Sunday FFS! Whatever you are doing can wait!

Unless you've got two night shifts ahead of you and working from home is not an option :(

Seconded.

Sitting at my desk looking out the window at these buffoons attempting to climb a snow sodden icey hill in a 1.4 T reg Corsa.

My message to them.. Give up and just stay in your f***ing house!
