pacbuddies Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 A critical win with all the teams around us also winning!!
Spoony Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 A lively, attacking game full of thrills where we passed the ball, had some great attacking opportunities and Robbie Keane scored a fantastic double to win the game. It's **** FREEZING in hell tonight
dudevillaisnice Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Always knew Keane would be a good signing ;-) fair play to him for proving most fans (and myself) that he may be a good signing after all. Gardner was great tonight in my opinion, Bent was great too imo. Set pieces still a concern though - huge concern.
Skruff Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Didn't expect a victory after that dire first half. MOTM Keane! Feels good with 3 points!
MikeMcKenna Posted January 21, 2012 VT Supporter Posted January 21, 2012 Great result, fantasic goal by Keane! Now win at home!
villa4europe Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 at least i can go to work monday morning now! missed the 1st half so dont know about the pen, the red card was an all dayer and i didnt get a replay of what looked like a foul on bent at the end but overall i cant see wolves fans having a case for blaming the ref the quality of both teams is poor but the way wolves play IMO plays into the hands of dunne/collins, hutton was poor, warnock despite his usual long ball down the line to no one wasnt that bad, gardner looked ok, keanes passing was poor at times but both goals were great, bent put a shift in, albrighton was hit and miss, weimann IMO looks like what he is - a young player full of enthusiasm who hasnt played enough good win and IMO thats us more or less safe if we beat bolton at home and dont lose to blackburn (who were emant to have been very good again today)
hogso Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Gardner MOTM for me, his magical powers of trickery and deception continue to impress. Casting Blind on Hennesey for Keane's first goal was a real touch of class, and something we have been severely missing from the first team for quite some time.
The_Steve Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Humble pie for quite a few on here - not even I expected Keane to pull off two goals today. Outside the last 20-25 minutes of the first half we deserved the win. Spirited performance and we did ever so well to turn it around. We looked buried at 2-1.
OnlyOne Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 That was a crazy game. I can't believe how relived I am that we won against Wolves. WOLVES. If Frimpong stayed on the pitch then it may have been different. The Red Card spell has been broken finally.
NowDoINotLikeThat Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Good second goal by Keane. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong for Wolves in 2nd half. Good result against a 10 man Wolves side espeicially given other results today. 6 wins in 22 games is still remarkably dire and sooner McLeish goes the better.
philgetaway Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 "We dont need Keane" we have other strikers like Fonz and Weimann ... Do me a favour.
Super-Villan Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Fair play for Keane, his goals won us the game today, and I wasn't wanting us to sign him at all.
Mr_Dogg Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Robbie Keane was great. And I thought Collins was good as well, must have cleared about 20 balls in to the box. What an upside down game!
VillaAlex Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Wasn't happy first half, it was no acceptable. Had a fair bit of luck in the second half but you earn that luck. End of the day McLeish signed Keane and Keane won us the game so fairplay. However we cannot carry on playing like this, I'm not happy with it despite the result and another team could have punished us. Saying that we're unbeaten in 6 away, so we need to focus on the dreadful home form.
Rodders Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 important win, masks much of our shitness, but, 3 points we'll need come the end of the season. wolves are getting relegated though,.
rjw63 Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 The wailing and gnashing of teeth in the match thread was quite amusing! Shame we only have Keane for a short spell
Mantis Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Good win. Didn't watch but it sounded like we were down and out at half time.
DeepDish Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Been critical of Warnock's last matches, but he changed the match today. The two crunching tackles he made in his first minutes made Collins and the other players tackle harder and win the balls. Then we were back in the driving seat. Really think Gardner played well too. And great goals from Keane. I'll ear some humble pie, as I thought he was finished.
