"The long-term diagnosis is that Charles is going to go to Paris to see a specialist," said manager Alex McLeish.

the long term diagnosis is that Nzogbia will not be here next season

had a feeling CNZ would be 'injured' for the weekend game and now wouldn't be surprised if this 'ligament/grudge' injury puts him out for the remainder of the season (or until he signs for another club)

I know it was in the Daily Star but they mentioned in their article about N'Zogbia hitting out at McLeish that he was being prepared for a trade + cash deal for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.. Though it is the Daily Star and I only found it when trying to find out exactly what N'Zogbia had said..

Giroud is too good for us, but him and Bent up top would do wonders.

Where's the supply coming from 'Czechlad?' Not getting at you mate just curious to know if you think what we have left would be good enough to make chances for Bent and Giroud?

Albrighton in my opinion is simply not going to make it and with N'Zogbia gone who is going to create enough chances for those two?

Well we just signed that Holman guy, plus I highly doubt we would get rid of Nzogbia without having a replacement, however knowing Villa anything is possible. I'm almost certain we would be losing one of our prized assets to help fund a reshape though. Would be a really nice surprise if we could have some early, QUALITY business done though. The optimistic side of looking at things, however for some reason I just really can't warm to Mcleish, at all. It's almost as if the soul is slowly being purged from the support. SAD but true.

VILLA winger Charles N’Zogbia could be out for a month with a knee problem after flying back to his native France to see a specialist.

Right-back Alan Hutton is also set to miss at least the next two matches against Chelsea and Liverpool with a calf injury.

It places a strain on Alex McLeish’s stretched squad, who suffered a 3-0 defeat to in-form Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Darren Bent (ankle) is out for the season, Richard Dunne (collarbone) hopes to return in a month, while Ciaran Clark (knee) is still weeks away from a return. James Collins also picked up a slight hamstring injury against the Gunners, but he is expected to be fit to face Chelsea at Villa Park on Saturday.

McLeish admits it is a major blow to lose N’Zogbia at a stage in the season when the wideman traditionally produces his best form.

“He’s going to get specialist attention in Paris,” he explained.

“The doc is taking him there and we’ve just got to see if his knee ligament is going to take much longer.

“We think it’s a medial knee ligament problem. It might be three or four weeks.

“It was a collision with Gary Gardner in training last Thursday, they banged knees together and Charles has opened his knee up a wee bit.

“He was in decent form and I thought he was gathering a bit of momentum, which has been the case with Charles over the last couple of years. He’s tended to save his strongest performances until the end of the season so I could ill afford to do without him just now.”

Hutton limped off with a calf problem towards the end of Saturday’s defeat and McLeish admits the Scottish defender could be out for up to three weeks.

“I certainly don’t need this, but we’ve all got to stick together just now and put this result behind us,” said the manager.

“Alan Hutton had an injection the morning of the game because he has been struggling with his heel.

“I hope it is not too bad, but he was actually complaining about his calf when he came off.

“He could be out for two or three weeks. He’ll need to be scanned, when we can get that done, I don’t know.

“James Collins signalled with ten minutes to go that his hamstring was tight and I said ‘Well we’ve put all the subs on’ so that’s where we are.

“Arsenal were able to throw on a couple of players worth £30 million. Don’t forget there’s a bit of disparity in terms of quality and the strength of squads.”

McLeish admits he must adopt a careful approach with his players during the final months of the season to get them through the remaining nine games.

“It is a big challenge now and I will need to wrap these guys in cotton wool,” he added.

“We can’t afford to be without any more experienced players because that was down to the last 11 on Saturday.

“The rest of them were injured and we had six young players on the bench.”

Saturday’s result left Villa in 15th position in the Premier League, eight points above the relegation zone and nine below Liverpool in seventh.

Well, I guess that´ll mean Heskey will keep his place.

totally - can't see us scoring a goal now.

Think we'll finish on 33 points.

Tbf would anyone want to play for villa right now ? think not

I know that this assertion isn't necessarily incorrect, but are you even a Villa fan? You come across as a Barca fan who just 'kinda likes' Villa.

Honestly how is that over grown oaf still on the payroll ? I bet he laughs every week as he has never earned a single penny of what he gets.

The worst footballer I have ever seen in the Prem and is League 2 quality at best. Francis Jeffers is better...

I bet he doesn't, I'm almost certain that Emile (like Dion Dublin in the past) goes out and gives his best but just isn't up to the job. That is not his fault, neither is the huge wage packet that he is on.

I guess you've not seen much Premier League football then or much of Francis Jeffers recently.

Striker is paid to score goals... Heskey has the worst striker ratio going its actually painful.

His pay is again down to RL and the dumb ass buy of the year defo went to MON back then.
