Vassell is releasing an autobiography. Might finally get some insight in to why he used a power drill on his own toe all those years back...

I always like Vassell. He formed a decent partnership with Angel for a while.

Gabby or Vassell. similar players in terms of style and both came from academy

its always a question that I wondered who was better. Gabby stats padded by being in a better team for a longer period and Vassell made more an impact at international level

Had a lot more ability than Gabby, both shite in front of goal too but Gabby was the better athlete.

I'm sure there were rumours when Gabby came through that he was a clever version of Vassell:wacko: God how wrong that was

Received in the email from Perth Glory today:

Perth Glory Football Club would like to inform its members and supporters that today it has mutually terminated the playing contract of Chris Herd and as a result he will not be part of the 2016/17 squad.

The 27-year old Socceroo signed with Glory in May and was due to arrive in Perth next week, however he is unable to relocate to Australia with his family at this point in time and as such requested to terminate his contract.

Glory CEO Peter Filopoulos said while disappointed with the decision, the club needed to be sensitive to Herd’s needs.

“After considerable deliberation and in the best interests of the Herd family, the club will not stand in their way and we take this opportunity to wish Chris and his family the best in their next chapter”.

Vassell was o.k for England around 2002-03, common complaint at the time was he played better for them than us!

We sold him for 2m and signed Baros for 6m, the Villa way.

his performance vs us for City was probably one of his greatest ever performances just to piss off DOL though a young Stephen Ireland was top class that night as well

Yes he had a ridiculous scoring record against us for a few years after leaving.
