Czechlad
Begovic appeared 35 times for Stoke in the league averaging a 6.65 rating. He also had 7 clean sheets. His pass percentage success rate was 61.7%. Begovic had a 66.7% save percentage. Begovic allowed 43 goals all season. Guzan appeared 34 times in the league averaging a 6.64 rating. He has 9 clean sheets. His pass percentage success rate was 54.7%. Guzan had a 67.8 save percentage. Guzan allowed 48 goals all season. I'd argue that stats say Guzan is the better overall keeper. Regardless, these stats prove that there is not much between them and it's foolish to be purchasing a goal keeper with what little money we have to spend.
Zatman
Guzan also played under the most negative Villa manager in history for 26 games which sort of manipulates the stats on clean sheets and save percentage

Villaphan04
He had a pretty shit season. Imo was one of the worst keepers in the PL. But if we can bring in a new keeper that can push Guzan we would see the guzan from a couple years ago.

But if we can bring in a new keeper that can push Guzan we would see the guzan from a couple years ago. Guzan was 10th in the league for shut outs, 7th in saves, and top 10 in save percentage. Guzan actually allowed the same about of goals as Lloris did and Lloris only played 1 more match than Guzan. Guzan was far from shit. He has one poor match that's it. That's all people remember. Guzan had a very strong first half of the season. Guzan's "poor" season still had him top 10 in almost all goal keeping stats.
