obviously if we went for rafa then it just seems like were going for former liverpool managers all the time. obviously big thing for rafa is he has the pull of international players but his still not my first choice. moyes, jol, then any of the others really just not mclaren.

VfL Wolfsburg 23.81%

I have a feeling other factors other than win ratios, will be paramount in the boards mind :winkold:

One thing is for sure. No manager will be given the freedom which MoN had, and there lies the problem.

Its already stated that Benny will only take the job if he has the same freedom, and i guess that will be the same with 99% of any top manager.

Anybody who puts the likes of Jol and Hughes above Benitez need to educate themselves. Here, let me assist:

Spain U-19 League (1): 1993

Spain U-19 Cup (2): 1991, 1993

Extremadura

Segunda División

Promotion (1): 1997–98

Tenerife

Segunda División (1): 2000–01

Valencia

La Liga (2): 2001–02, 2003–04

UEFA Cup (1): 2003–04

Liverpool

UEFA Champions League (1): 2004–05

FA Cup (1): 2005–06

FA Community Shield (1): 2006

UEFA Super Cup (1): 2005

A winner if ever there was one. I hope this helps with your education.

Until Moyes comes out and flat out out refuses us, then I think he's still a target . It could be another lean summer at Goodison and maybe he realises he can't take them any further.

Benitez is a spent force imo.

Takes some doing having Liverpool finish outside the top 4 but he pulled it off ,

Left worse squad than he inherited at Liverpool and absolutely awful football to watch, made right mess at Inter Milan.

However he doesn't seem that bad when you look at Kendricks list.

If the Rafa from 2005 and before would turn up gthat would be good ..but he seems to have lost the plot last few years.

Transfer record at Pool was pretty embarrasing but again when you see the names mentioned by Kendrick he suddenly doesnt seem that bad.

Personally I think Rafa is an absolute word removed but I can understand why he might be appointed, even if I think he now somewhat of a busted flush.

McClaren on the otherhand I can just see no reason why he would be a choice. He spent alot of money at Boro to achieve 14th, 12th, 7th, 14th place finishes, which is frankly just rubbish. He has no team building credentials, no charisma, no great record in the transfer market, no nothing!

However i would still take Rafa over Jol , **** Martinez or bloody McClaren

Takes some doing to win the CL with the players he had at Liverpool, also takes some doing to win La Liga with a team other than Barcelona or Real Madrid.
