ChrisNichollsToe
I think we should just wait until July and get Hughes. He's the best manager available imo. Its pretty close to pre season. Unless everything has been agreed beforehand, and he is actually working on things beforehand, then i think its risky.
wedge
Anyone be happy with someone like Billic? Yes, also, he could play guitar at our kit launch rather than the Mexicolas or whoever they were.
hopeful.villan
Wheres Deschamps agent gone? his posts were gettin as entertaining as the pirate fella. He's been quiet for a day now... maybe he's at Villa Park sortin out a deal..........!!
Razor
How depressing, it just shows how much crap everyone in the press talks including Matt Kendrick. I'm depressed about the season ahead already, if it's Mclaren im going to find it extremely hard to care about this season. Typical Villa.
islingtonclaret
Aston Villa Board of Directors: take note. On Small Heath Alliance, the Birmingham City Forum, the great unwashed WANT MCCLAREN TO BE OUR MANAGER. If that's not a clear indication of who not to choose, I don't know what is. But i have a sneaky feeling that we only feed Kendrick stuff, to take peoples eyes off our real targets, whomever they are?

NowDoINotLikeThat
It is alarming that Kendrick finishes his article with "Villa will now turn their attention to a field of candidates believed to include Martin Jol, Roberto Martinez and Steve McClaren." i mean ffs. Maradona10
I have a feeling on Ancellotti he doesn't want a challenge, he knows he has to build the side which i'm afraid he ain't got the bottle to do.
Nigel Posted June 6, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted June 6, 2011 Two more that seem to have gone of the Radar..... 1) Slaven Bilic 2) Claudio Raneiri Id behappy with either of those, Raneiri being the better option IMO. Plus he has premiership experience....

Unless everything has been agreed beforehand, and he is actually working on things beforehand, then i think its risky. I don't think it is. Hughes' didn't take over at Fulham until 29th July last year and they finished 8th. Even last year with 4 managers we finished 9th. We could appoint Hughes at the start of the July. That gives him more than a month until the Premier League starts and two months of the transfer window. I think that's sufficient time tbh... It proberly suits us to stir the water a little, since two other clubs are after a manager aswell :winkold: Besides maybe Hughes, i dont think any of the managers mentioned by Kendrick, are our real targets.
