Then enduring a tedious drive back through Friday rush hour traffic and endless roadworks. Put me in a proper bad mood, so I was about to post in the Piss You Off thread. But then several helpings of fish pie, a bottle of New Zealand sauvignon blanc and a play of this album cheered me up enormously, so this is the place. Bought a pasty and some cakes to eat in the park, stocked up on a few herbs and spices from my fave market stall and had little conversations with strangers about which way to queue and whether to have a custard slice and whether to buy some new speaker material. Had a look around a book shop. Bought a tee shirt. Went to the park, sat on the grass and had a coffee in the sunshine. An afternoon of cutting the grass and sinking some fence posts coming up. Just being able to have a piss before the drive home made it far more comfortable. I’d forgotten these kind of luxuries existed.
