Every day that goes by, it’s one less day to spend the money that we get for Grealish before the season starts.. that’s annoying

Why?

Grealish is going nowhere.

After the way this has been played out in public under the gaze of fans etc today then this would be an absolute PR disaster by the club if he is to go

I hope they know what they are doing...

This is what I mean. With something like this, I can't imagine it's just some social media manager acting alone. Surely it would have to get the approval of the higher ups, and if they thought there wasn't a decent chance Grealish is staying there's no way they'd approve it.

Scraping the barrel here but the early teaser of the next episode in The Villa

Can someone zoom in and enhance the chandelier to see if we get a reflection?

If we look at this objectively, our owners and board so far have not failed to meet their objectives.  They are driven, professional and committed. There clear aim is to keep Jack at the club, and I can't believe they would put on this show, to then have to admit defeat.  Lange has gone for a one on one chat with grealiah in front of the world (I know it's a randomer,  but they must have been aware of the filming), to then have to admit he's failed to convince him of their vision for the future.

I will be astounded if that's what they've just served up.

I feel like the green marquee is going to become a staple Villa meme for years to come if Jack signs a new contract.

What a marquee signing this is going to be

So I think so too but it surprised me a lot of the people on here didn't think so.

If he leaves and he does so in a respectful way (not doing what Kane is currently doing) and the club gets value, I don't see why that should tarnish him at all.

It's massively disappointing and it'll hurt bigtime but he's pretty much carried this club for a few years now and if he genuinely felt like he couldn't achieve what he wanted to here I'd say go. I think if the owners are serious then they need to be able to convince him that the vision is real and achievable.

Well he was sold on the project less than a year ago.

The team made massive strides last season. Most of them, given their ages, can be expected to improve further. The owners have made two, imo, excellent signings of intent so far this window. Keep Jack and there's no reason we can't hope for a top 6 challenge, maybe more if we could get a deadball specialist like JWP.

The project's progressing nicely, but losing Jack will derail it somewhat. He knows this as well as most fans do.

So it's a question, really, of whether Jack's had his head turned sufficiently to turn his back on the project, his city, his club.

If he does, good luck to him. I won't suddenly hate him...but, given his comments last year, I would be a little disappointed in him.

The longer this goes on, the more we have a chance.

I still think he wants to go but he's with us, which means we can pitch our idea and offers to him. He hasn't kicked up a fuss.

We're still in this fight.
