Him, his dad, and his agent were engineering moves each summer. He was off to Man United the season before he signed a new contract.

Which Jack should be thankful for.

Not us as fans - we have one royalty and that's Villa.

Grealish could have stayed at a potential relegation candidate, or gone to win the Champions League.

That's his job.

Let's not be too harsh on his decision or his dad apparently "engineering" a move. In fact, Jack should be grateful for how it's all worked out for him.

Or "I love this club, but it's a football club, and I love my son more, so let's see if we can push his career forward and make his dreams come true".

In all seriousness, as someone who grew up adoring Gazza for England, that is absolutely horrific to see.

I’d tentatively suggest that it’s possibly the opposite. For the majority of the last 20 years he’s been close to drinking himself to death. The fact that he’s alive and well(ish) is a cause for celebration.

I was actually just thinking that looking bloated and his demeanor could be the result of the drugs he's taking for his mental health. So if he is stabilized and not on booze and illegal drugs then that is something to be celebrated.

However, he is 56 which shows that the years of self abuse and not getting things taken care of, take their toll very quickly.

latest David Squires is very good indeed 😂

Brilliant 🤣.

Simpson's reference, taking the piss out off Southgate and Grealish, referencing city's dodgy owners... its got a lot going for it.

I am hearing that Grealish has signed a massive deal to go to Saudi Arabia.

Signing a 5 year contract with club Al-Col-hol.

We all want Villa to be massive again, competing at the top end again; Jack Grealish wants to sniff De Bruyne and Peps knickers whilst elevating City above Villa in European Cups, League titles and every other metric. He blatantly dived to cheat against us infront of all the Villa fans, celebrates goals against us, speaks about us in ways which make us look small fry. Yeah cant wait to welcome him back like this was all a bad dream 🙃

I know there’s politics behind these big moves, agents love it, its how they make their money, and who knows maybe Villa were actually pleased to get it done in the end because we really did need a windfall to balance FFP as all we seemed to do in the 10 years prior was buy buy buy with no money coming back in through sales. Of course players too, are always looking for that bumper contract and the chance to jump on the perennial winners gravy train, regardless of who they support, but I know I will never look at him the same and I dont want him to ever come back. Too much damage was done imo. Most Villa fans have always hated City for pillaging us in the past, setting off a chain of events that we’re only just recovering from now, Jack was there when the whole Delph thing happened, all Villa fans would have felt even deeper resentment of that club at that time; but of course, he wont think like a fan when you get the chance to be the Delph yourself.

Nuh, just cant look at him the same. Still annoys me 2 years later.

Finally, someone who sees it for how it is! Class post, mate!

I have felt and said many bad things about  Grealish since he left, but when I heard about this and saw this clip I feel stupid and have now most respect for him. That's just class. And that guy trying to pull him away. Way to go, Jack. Never been more proud of you.
