this is interesting. Could this actually work to scupper any Man United interest?

Flavour of the month young player at big club call-up shocker. Jack has been putting in work the whole season. By all means play Greenwood, but you have to include Jack in the squad for the sake of recognition if nothing else.

This is basically the "I see you, I hear you, and I will do nothing" meme personified.

Doubt it. The idea that you couldn't play both is very strange. Man Utd will find a role for him if they can get their hands on him.

If he does go to Man United and plays exactly the same football he has here, he'll be in the next England squad.

I get your point but I don’t think it matters if Jack plays at 10 it’s just excuse after excuse from Southgate this latest one is no more genuine than the last. The fact Jack likes that Tweet earlier suggested to me he knows he has no chance under Southgate.

I think that’s right - to a degree. If he has a blinding season before the Euros then the press will start agitating for him to be picked. Hard for an England manager before a major tournament to deliberately weaken his squad, the tabloids will go in hard on him. I hope, anyway. Up to the club to give him the tools to do that.

Jack brought this on himself. Repeatedly dribbling past Aaron Mooy like that when Southgate was watching v Brighton? Forcing the poor lad to kick him until he got sent off? Jack should have known that his subsequent Goal, Assist and MOTM performance “against 10 men” would be as good as mocked by Southgate. I mean, this is a manager who only caps midfielders who are truly world class... Jack Cork of Burnley (2017 v Germany)... Nathaniel Chalobah of Watford (2018 v Spain)... Jack can only dream of being spoken of in the same breath as these guys.

Lewis Cook who can't start for Bournemouth!

Baffled by the decision like everyone here.

His ability to run and dribble with the ball from deep lying positions is unique.None of the other midfielders can do that.

I remember in the World Cup semifinal against Croatia and we were getting tired and overrun in midfield Jack would be the perfect person to come on in that situation.Who did we bring on ?Lingard and that sums up Southgates thinking.Workman like players who don’t take risks.

Gascoingne was the last England player who was happy to run and dribble over distance(he also did a lot of dribbling after the game)

It might make more sense for him to stay after this.He won’t be getting into the squad if he’s not playing regularly .

I hope England get stuffed. Can't stand FIFA, the FA, Southgate or what International football has become (I have fond memories up until Englands supposed Golden generation came along) 👊🍆💦

Southgate had the luckiest draw ever in 2018, I seem to remember we didn't score from open play only set pieces, then the 1st time we met a decent team we were played off the park. Southgate is a muppet and any other country in the world (Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Holland) would be building their team around a player like Jack Grealish. (2nd in stats in the PL to De Bruyne FFS)

Not England though, kick and rush it to the speed merchants up front and hope we get lucky. What a joke.

Gareth Southgate writes his own pornographic stories on a typewriter before his 8.30pm bedtime wank. They always start with him scoring the winning penalty against Germany in Euro 1996 and then going out for a pizza with David Seaman. He shreds the story at around 8.45pm and makes a mug of cocoa.

Oct 24, Villa at home to Leeds. First game some fans are allowed back. 11k fans inside Villa Park. Southgate in attendance to watch Phillips. Jack picks up the ball and drives at the heart of Leeds, Phillips tries  2 footed into Grealish, but Grealish carries on and curls one into top corner. The Holte End roars, “Super Jack”. Southgate gets up to leave ..Another roar from the Holte, “are you watching Southgate, are you watching Southgate”. The media ask Southgate what he thought of Jack’s staring role. “ Well the thing is, there is a bloke in league one who has ran the show this week, so I just don’t think Jack is doing enough at this level”
