CrackpotForeigner
Just watched Animal Kingdom, an aussie crime flick.... pretty decent for a low budget, no effects movie - good storyline and good acting. worth a punt! Yeah, that Jackie somebody, the woman who plays the matriarch, is brilliant in that. Oscar-worthy.

Stevo985 Posted August 14, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted August 14, 2011 Saw Super 8 the other night. It was good I thought. Clearly a throwback to 80's sci fi and... **possible small spoiler** The story is effectively just ET but with a meaner alien **end** Not a classic by any stretch but entertaining enough. I also watched Limitless on DVD. I thought it was ok at best.

I was way more interested in how the kid's movie turned out than the whole returning home bit. That says a lot towards the storytelling in that film. briggaman
Went to see Planet Of The Apes today and thought it was rather good. I'm still not sold on the whole CGI thing in films like this but at parts it was impressive. The film as a whole was entertaining and yet another good summer blockbuster. I went to see Sarah's Key on Wednesday too. That's another good little film that I feel is worth seeing. It's a slow one but the story is touching and the flashback scenes are good. AVFCDAN
Watched Super-8 and Rise of the Apes last few days. Both 7/10 films for me, showed glimpes of being great films but both just fell short.... The CGI in Rise of the apes was pretty special, only a few scenes where i lost some of the immersion due too bad CGI. Super-8 started really well but lost its way in the middle part for me. ender4
I saw this film yesterday, Source Code. A fantastic action thriller film, possibly the best film i've seen this year. Its like 12 Monkeys vs Groundhog Day vs Surrogates vs Pelham 123. 9/10. anyone seen it? and anyone want to give their interpretation on the ending? ender4
SPOILER questions about the ending: (highlight to view) 1) Is he now in an alternate universe? I think he is, which means the original universe where the bomb went of still exists. 2) Is the original Colter still in the box? He must be if the original universe still exists. 3) What happened to the guy who was in the body that Colter took over? He is vanished into thin air? CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Rear Window. Great film. North by Northwest is my favourite Hitchcock though. Rear Window a close second.

TheSufferingVilla
Saw Planet of the Apes, thought it was utterly brilliant from start to finish. The only thing missing was Tim Burton sitting in the seat beside me, I would have very much enjoyed punching him in the face every five minutes for the utter tripe he unleashed upon us a couple of years back.
