Southgate doesn't rate Serie A one bit so that's why Tomori and Lofus Cheek aren't getting chances despite AC Milan always in Europe. French league will probably rate even lower in his mind (although of course Dutch Eredivisie is ahead of La Liga....! ) We'll see Gomes level in a few weeks so will be interesting how he does against our midfield. Short of Mainoo coming in, I think Rice and Gallagher behind Bellingham is the best midfield we can go for.
