IMO This is much bigger than the Liverpool 7-2. That was a weird game with loads of deflections.

In this game, we dominated the champions. We deserved absolutely everything and should have won 3-0 or so.

Wow. Just wow. Never mind the win, never mind the three points, Villa just absolutely dominated them - the only thing wrong with that game is that we ‘only’ won by 1.

Big shout out tonight to Lucas Digne.  Absolutely dominated the left-hand side of the pitch tonight (with McGinn) and just looked so calm and confident on the ball.  I thought he was a really good signing when he came and felt like he's got an awful lot of flack for being (a) signed by SG and (b) being on good wages.  Him and Moreno down the left give us real strength in depth and so many options in terms of how we can play against different opponents.  Was really good to see him get a great reception when he went off.

Absolutely incredible performance from start to finish. No team ever plays like that against City, we bossed the whole game. Probably the best I’ve ever seen us play. Bailey MOTM but everyone was brilliant.

 

I love this team and manager and we can achieve amazing things.

On the game, tough to single out any one player in that performance but I thought Kamara in particular was absolutely phenomenal. He looked like the kind of player that City were crying out for out there.

If I could give man of the match to two players I would of tonight, McGinn and Bailey were both awesome. An incredible team performance and a deserved win, something special is happening at Villa.

another point to note. city's CB's were class tonight. probably the only team in the league with better CBs than us. this wasn't a bad city display at all, and we still came out on top

but naturally the post match is dominated by city being poor with the occasional nugget of "villa played well". but fine...keep not taking us seriously.

Seeing Pep slumped back in his seat with his arms folded in a harrumph at the end there was absolutely delicious
