Khizzy Posted August 30, 2023 Share Posted August 30, 2023 He might be used as a rotation option, particularly against inferior European opposition (if we get through tomorrow) but I doubt he will start a lot of games. The way I look at it is last year we had Bednarek and this season we have Lenglet as CB cover. It's not the end of the world but our squad options are immediately stronger. We used to have the likes of Hause, Trezeguet and Nakamba as our back up options. This squad is ridiculous. Right, I assume he is coming in as a fourth choice rotation option (especially as no option to buy) but as we keep saying: Emery’s style is often to sign ‘flops’ and make them amazing. Actually not the case - often the loaned player will get a little something extra. It’s controversial as one club might say to another “we can’t afford X loan fee” and at the same time be offering the player £10k extra per week which could instead be £500k on a loan fee...
