Match Thread: Newcastle v Villa

That goal is annoying.

It's a whiff from Ezri no doubt.

But I bet his mind is thinking about the foul he's just had on him with nothing given. Exactly the same scenario. Isak right behind him, smashed in the back nothing given.

We are beaten. They are a better drilled opponent.

They are an opponent which haven't had their whole pre season of preparation decimated by injuries to two key players in the space of 3 - 4 days before and early in the first game of the season as well.

What were people expecting actually?

They finished 4th. We are supposed to walk all over them away from home?

Delusional

I just didn’t expect us to be so poor in so many aspects.  Yes defeat had a high possibility, this performance was nowhere in the realm of what I was expecting, we have been poor collectively and individually.

A close game?

Not embarrassingly bad?

It isn't embarrassingly bad.

Both sides had an equal amount of chances.

We're not getting the rub of the green against a bloody good side who will finish in the top 4.

No reason to be a dramaqueen over this

not at all happy with this match.  but I love the creative and thoughtful commitment from Emory to bring on Carlos, go three at the back whihc pushes up both Digne and Cash.  I like it that the manager doesn't give up.  That has to translate to the players (eventually)
