I really think there's a uniqueness about him that is different to anyone else in the squad. There is a player in there somewhere, but we have to look very deep to find him. Has scored three nice goals but has to show a bit more consistency before we pay the kind of money they will want for him. Haven't we already paid a sizeable chunk for the loan period somewhere around 9m? I could be wrong but sure I read it was around that figure. So in essence it's a fee we'll never get back or have to write off if he goes back to Turkey in the interim. Buying him outright might cost another 15m? Potentially a figure that if he finds form and gets back on track would be a snip in 12 -18 months. Bailey cost 30m and was write off as a failure buy many, too injury prone , too weak, now look at him. I think people can be very short sighted when looking at players. Basically if they don't hit it off straight away they're regarded as failures. You could look around the PL and some of the best players over the last several years were seen as failures or not good enough before eventually turning it around and becoming legends at their current clubs. Salah, De Bruyne are two that spring to mind straight away. Discarded by Chelsea to come back and become PL icons. They are the exceptions but short termism does seem to be the general view of fans rather than looking at the bigger picture. Not saying Zaniolo deserves or may even want to stay, but the idea players, especially from abroad need to hit the ground running is for those that have no patience nor understand that some players need to settle before you'll ever see the best of them. Zaniolo has played very well in his last two sub appearances, first in that horrendous defeat against Spurs when we only had 10 men he looked the only decent player on the pitch and then scores an important goal against West Ham to salvage a point. Even when he was struggling earlier in the season (understandable as he was new to the league) we won 5 of the 7 games he started this season, 3 of them against top half teams. We cannot seem to beat top half teams this calendar year so it's time we changed something in the lineup to make that happen. Emery hasn't been getting his starting lineup right recently, we need to beat Wolves and if we start the match with the right players in from the start I think we will. An attacking lineup but one that is very capable of blowing Wolves away. Then in defence stop playing Konsa right back, play him centrally with Torres, bring Cash back in who has been excellent, and play Digne instead of Moreno. That is our best and most balanced back 4. Rogers and Duran aren't at the level yet to be starting games for us, have them on the bench and bring them on later if needs be.
