Whoever this person may be throughout this scandal, one thing I have learned though, is that this Jeremy Vine person is a bit of a word removed.

Exactly. He almost certainly doesn't know the full facts and should shut his cake hole.

Welcome.

Yes, that's a lesson many have already learned. An insufferable word removed.

Nah that’s rookie numbers

Yup, on podcasts I’ve heard women brag about making £40k in 1 day on onlyfans before.

It astounds me that there’s enough men willing to pay to see something that there’s a plethora of online for free.

Stevo did clarify "from one person". So £40k in a day is not comparable to £35k from someone.

Being as everyone knows who it is, don't watch the episode of The Thick of it entitled Spinners and Losers

Wonder what was the context behind that, think episode was in 2006 so a long old time for there to be come more rumours behind the scenes at the Beeb.

My guess is that it’s a throwaway gag and could really have been written about anyone.

The show would sprinkle the odd jokey reference to a real person, like Nick Robinson or someone. So my gut feeling is it’s a coincidence.

It’s different tho isn’t it, it unlocks the voyeur aspect and because they’re ‘real’ people and not porn stars (per se) it makes people feel like they have a chance…….not that I’ve thought about it much…….

Yeah, I get all that but still, there’s a lot of desperate men out there with money to burn if they think it’s good value to buy pictures of a randoms woman’s chuff when there’s a million others for free.

Yep, just a coincidence IMO but my daughter nearly spat her drink out when she watched it last night

I saw an advert for some show the other day where a presenter was sat next to some woman at a restaurant, the woman gets a ping on her phone and says “Oh dinner’s paid for”. I think she said one of her “subs” had paid for it. It might not be the word she used, but the arrangement was of that nature. The guy’s not there, he hasn’t eaten, he’s just paid for the meal.

This isn’t exactly news to me. It just underlines the fact that in a world where people are happily and willingly paying for something they themselves aren’t receiving in any tangible way, then a man paying for an intimate picture of a particular individual isn’t really that ridiculous in comparison.

I think people talk to them too. They have chats, so for lonely people it has multiple uses. I mean this with no irony...I believe a friend of mine had a secret addiction to it and blew thousands. He had no money and he's getting evicted. He seemed to do it for the messaging as much as anything else.

They make 40k because they sell subscriptions for, say, £25 a month and have 2k subscribers or whatever. Then they sell a video on there for £100 and 500 people buy it and they’ve made another 50k.

People subscribing to OF don’t pay 35k to the models on there.
I mean they might, but it’s an absolutely insane amount of money to spend on there

Is there any confirmation that it was OnlyFans? 35k would be a huge amount of money for one person to spend on OF.

I have been told by “ITK” that the money was offline payments (possibly blackmail?) but the original contact was via OnlyFans.

However later stories have mentioned dating apps, so OF may be a red herring. Point is the money is separate from the original interactions, and the very large amounts suggest hush money / blackmail / or severe levels of delusion on the part of the BBC presenter.
