  1. On a serious note, has anyone received a confirmation email after booking? Edit - come through now.
  2. How do you usually put an Ender to it?
  3. It is doing that for me too and lots of other people it appears.
  4. Aston - 5 letters. Villa - 5 letters. How the holy f*** have they managed to not get the text centered?
  5. Out now: "Resigned to Fifth" - the new album by Big Flange and the Cock Gobblers
  6. There is a very long Daily Mail article published at the end of last month called "why Premier League Clubs want to kill off season tickets". It says how the clubs want to get rid of season tickets and sell tickets at full-price every week. Villa get quite a few mentions for how they are pricing fans out. I can copy and paste the article if someone can tell me this is allowed?
  7. I was thinking just the other day how long would it take Heck to think "why are we giving these season-ticket holders a discount when we could sell their seats at full-price each week instead?"
  8. Are points for a win or a draw awarded at full time, or after extra time, or after penalties? I’m sure somebody’s already said this but I’ve forgotten, thanks
  9. While the BBC are reporting the current rules will remain in place next season.
  10. Although what you suggest is very logical, there are a number of things to consider here. Firstly, Emery did not say that the scan showed a small injury he just said that there was a small injury, so they may be purely going on the players symptoms. Second, MRI is able to detect very small changes in muscles. For example delayed onset muscle soreness, which is what you feel The next couple of days after going to the gym, will show up on MRI but you would definitely be able to play a few days after that. Hamstring strains are graded on a three point scale ranging from grade one which is microscopic tearing, to grade 3 which is a complete rupture. The healing time For a grade one strain isn’t really that long, but even then, studies have shown that the average return to play time in professional footballers Is about two weeks. But I agree with you that if the MRI is showing an actual injury, then Saturday would be either too soon or too risky or both.
  11. There was a point around 20-30 minutes before kickoff where they were playing highlights of Villa goals with really loud, tinny commentary while at the same time playing horrendously loud dance music. As my headache got worse and worse, I literally wanted to find the person responsible for this and kill them.
  12. I worked with Gordon at Villa in the late 90s. He is such a nice, mild-mannered person - a real gentleman. His teamtalks to the youth team were very different to some of the other coaches at the time. This is really sad. I am increasingly becoming aware that getting old is no fun at all. But my most vivid memory of him is years before that when I was about 10 years old and he was sat behind me at a Villa game in the late 80s, presumably injured as he wasn't playing. I recognised him because he was one of the current players and I asked him to sign my programme for me. He then held onto it for Des Bremner to sign who was sat next to him. Unfortunately, and to my shame, I didn't know who Des Bremner was as I didn't start supporting Villa until 1987. Gordon and I then entered into a tug of war with the programme with me trying to pull it off him and him trying to give it to Des until he said "this is Des Bremner!"
  13. Do you have any more information about whereabouts in the ground those hospitality areas are likely to be And what the nature of the work taking place will be?
  14. "The club’s new American president of business operations, Chris Heck, has overseen the Betano deal" Apparently, most of the meeting was spent drinking ouzo, with the Greeks calling Heck a Malaka and Heck calling them cocksuskers.
  15. I should have said that is from Sky Sports.
  16. From Sky Sports: Bailey open to leaving Aston Villa for 'big six' Leon Bailey has said he would like to join a 'big six' team in the Premier League, despite signing a new deal at Aston Villa last month. Bailey told the Let’s Be Honest Podcast that he is focused on finishing the season strongly with Villa, where he is very happy. Although, he said would be open to moving to another club that could give him a bigger platform to promote Jamaican football. Asked if he is interested in a move to Chelsea in the near future, Bailey said: "You have big teams in England, they call themselves the big six. The Arsenals and the Chelseas. "It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I am right now. “Who wouldn’t want to go to a massive team? Especially coming out of Jamaica, do you know how big that is for the country? Especially being who I am as well. “It would shine more light and that has been my focus whenever overseas. It is to use my platform to be able to shine light on the country and the young talents. It’s difficult for us Jamaicans to even make it to Europe."
  17. This is an image of fixation of a 5th metatarsal (little toe) stress fracture in an athlete, showing where the screw head would sit (the base of the 5th metatarsal which is the bony lump you can feel at the halfway point on the outside of your foot). The systematic review referenced below states that: "Removal of internal metalwork was not routinely undertaken. Twenty cases in all had removal due to prominent screw heads." and then: "The pooled results need to read with caution—although the overall rate of metal removal was <10 %, the rate of secondary surgery to remove painful screws can be almost 50 % . https://esskajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1007/s00167-012-2138-8 Yes, I know I said I would never post about medical stuff on here again. My name is Deano and Dalian's Umbrella and I have a problem.
  18. Yes, he does look like he needs to be deeply sanitised.
