Is there anyone at this stage who hasn’t clocked who it is?

My point wasn't that you could find out who it was this way, but rather that someone in the "press" had actually taken the plunge, even though widely-held opinion is that the person has only been named on social media and not by any media outlets (if you count a political website as "media outlet").

But you'd be surprised.

Yesterday, I saw an AI-generated youtube video of the person in question talking about the story,  which even included the arse photo, and from some of the comments, it was clear that people were still asking who it was and some people even thought the video was real. It did look real.

You have to say if The Sun are SO sure of their ground, and they've got this "extra" evidence...Why haven't THEY named him?   What's holding them back?

They've already ruined his career.

And why is everyone going out of their way to not mention the gender of the 4 "complainants"?  (I know one isn't complaining)

Where I've seen incidents of people accidentally letting it slip, they've immediately jumped to correct themselves and say "or young woman".

I think they’re being very careful about “outing” either the presenter or the other parties.

Whole thing feels like a slide back to the days when the News of the World would destroy people who’d basically done very little wrong or even been tricked into doing something wrong. Lawrence Dallaglio, Tulisa, etc.

Think the Schofield thing has emboldened them to go down the moral police route over stuff that is vaguely seedy but not illegal and probably nobody else’s business.

Really struggling to understand why this should be a career ender. It’s not like the guy was a politician campaigning against gay rights. I just don’t see what the justification is, unless they really have conclusive proof on this underage angle. The drugs are an irrelevance - understand why parents would be worried, but not the fault of the presenter.

And the other stories only really lend weight to the idea the presenter likes young men … which isn’t a crime.

We’ve had a stream of tories struggling not to look at porn at work or touch up the staff at parties.

If their mates in the media can muddy the water and make it look like everyone is at AND keep the BBC on the back foot that’s got to be worth doing.

Well that gives the BBC a huge problem.

The simplest outcome for them would have been for it to be a criminal matter where they could have suspended without pay and then sacked him. Now they’re faced with potentially trying to bring him back into the tent or face a huge pay off.

He is apparently in hospital now with serious mental health issues.

In her statement, Vicky Flind said her husband Huw Edwards was "suffering from serious mental health issues" and is now "receiving in-patient hospital care where he will stay for the foreseeable future" as she asked for privacy for her family.

The Sun’s hatred of the BBC has led them to out a journalist with a history of mental health problems as a paedophile despite him doing nothing illegal and the initial person saying nothing inappropriate happened either. They are reprehensible.
