Wait David Ornstein has quoted the price to be £34.6m rising to £40m with add ons… im pretty sure he is way off and wrong with those figures but i will be left in awe and gobsmacked if he was right not to mention buzzing!!

We will sign a right-back of some description, it's okay saying that Konsa can play there, but if Cashy gets injured then we will be left with no specialist right-backs in the squad, what if that happens and Konsa doesn't even take to playing right-back at Premier League level, besides I'm not sure where this idea has come from that Konsa is going to play at right-back anyway, I can see the reasoning, but I don't think there's been anything to suggest it's what Emery is actually going to do, we going for gold so I doubt we're going to gamble on playing players in random positons that they haven't played in at the top level before.

Konsa has played RB for Villa 9 times over 3 seasons. Cash is RM converted to RB the season before signing for us

Is this our best ever transfer window? We've signed big players before but not this many in one window.

The only other one I can compare it to would be 98/99 when we signed Merse, Dublin, Barry, Watson, and Stone. Think we got Delaney too.

Anyway, this window has been amazing.

Cash had a couple of seasons as a right midfielder when he was very young and he wasn't very good there, when we signed him he had played the whole season as a right-back, he was one of the best players in the Championship in that position, hence us paying the money we did for him and him being linked to other top clubs, he has since had three very good seasons with us as a right-back, to the point where he's won our player of the season, become a Poland international, and been linked with big money move to Atlectico Madrid.

Cash converting to right-back when he was much younger and in the Championship with Forest, is completely different to Konsa converting to right-back now at an higher level and at an older age, Konsa has already established himself as a central defender, Cash hadn't established himself as midfielder, he was essentially a right-back all along, they just didn't know it yet, because he was still young and so hadn't found his best positoin yet.

It depends what we’re asking the right back to do.

If it’s a traditional RB who gets forward, then Konsa isn’t the answer. If the RB is asked to stay back and form a back three, essentially a right sided CB, then he could be the answer.

Look at Stones and TAA, they’ve had no issue adapting to a new role/position.

Ornstein has said that, I would tend to believe him over other sources

Summer 2020 was good with Martinez, Watkins, Cash and Traore.  Even Barkley was OK for half a season.

Tielemens, Torres, Diaby… well that’s a bit exciting.

If we could get the version of Bailey which played with Diaby back to replicate that partnership we'd be " cooking "..

* Yes I know... He's shit etc etc etc.... Lol

Genuine question (for you and anyone else).

Bailey clearly "was" rapid, we may not see it at villa but he was rapid and clocked to be a deadly fast player, prior to joining us.

What's happened?, do you think those couple of hamstring injuries genuinely crocked him?

He clearly doesn't have much strength etc to hold players off, as he gets bullied easily, but he did have pace but we just haven't seen it at villa, something must be going on with him?

I wonder If the injuries have curtailed his pace or something?, and all we are seeing is a weak and average speed winger, that just doesn't work?

Tielemams - 26
Pau Torres - 26
Moussa Diaby - 24

We’re signing players about to enter their peak years, rather than before they peak or after they peak. A game changer.
