Sounds like we have failed with our moves and probably no other incomings. Absolute mental letting ings go if no other striker is coming in. We cant expect duran to lead the line if ollie picks up a serious injury

i would like to know where Emery actually said this, so many times on these twitter accounts Emery (and others) are quoted without any links/idea of the source of it.

Not saying he didnt say it, but any old hack can post X saying Y said it, if they dont provide the source.

As it stands calling back Barry and having him as an option would be better than nothing, might sound a little crazy but at the moment Brad Young probably our third choice striker in terms of players that specialist centre-forwards, might not even be needed, just someone that's there if we do need him, and who knows might be one of those players that does better at an higher level with better players around him, similar to Archer.

Yeah, I do believe we have a clause allowing Barry to be recalled in Jan (tomorrow).

I really do not want to be hearing our manager talk about how difficult it is to do business in January when we've been forcing people out the door as well as unnecessarily selling our top goalscorer and loaning out our brightest attacking talent without replacing.

Daft rhetoric.

Yeah but he’s not exactly pulling up trees where he is….leave him there, he adds nothing to this team at the moment and would hurt development of him.  If nobody comes in, it was really stupid to let Ings go mainly but also letting Archer go on loan would be bonkers.  I can’t believe the club would do that so I’m still expecting something before the deadline bizarrely.  Crazy if nothing comes in upfront.

So,in the eyes of the football world,we are a worse club than Villareal ?!

Well, yes. That's not surprising. They're recent Europa League winners, and pushing for CL this year, after all.

@CVByrne & @skarroki yep good posts and fair points. I'm not suggesting doom and gloom by any account. It's just a mild numbers concern but I think you've got that anyway.

Yeah, I think we've made a calculated risk on Ings in two ways, 1) we'll let him go and we will sign another attacker this window. 2) We fail ti get another attacker in and we hope Watkins stays fit for the final 18 games.

We may fail with 1) and it'll be one to be confirmed on 2)

I've never worked in a business where this was considered a realistic way of operating.
