Brighton can certainly get a result when they play Arsenal the way they're defending now.

I think Brighton playing Man. City last midweek so we'll see, it could still be the game Man. City need to win to take the league.

The pressure Arsenal were under leading up to the City game is what caused them to collapse IMO, that game was built up by the media.  I think now that game is over and they were stuffed, they will revert back to how they were playing before Liverpool game. I would still fancy them to get a result at the Emirates against Brighton.

I think 61, at a push 62 will be enough for 6th. 60 probably enough for 7th.

United - D
Wolves - W
Spurs - W
Liverpool - L
Brighton - D

Where does that leave us? 62 and 6th?

If we beat Spurs and they also lose to Man. United and Liverpool over next few days they can only get to a maximum of 62 points , barely anything in the GD either.

If Brighton lose to Arsenal and Newcastle away and Man. City at home and draw with us on final day they'd finish on 62 points  if they win all the other games aswell! Much tougher ask to overhaul their GD though.

We could really do with Wolves going down there and getting a boring 1-1, guess they have to seek permission from Global Villain first to do that.😉

Whats not talked about for all the bottling talk is they've been stuck with Rob Holding at CB...

Not sure when saliba is back, holding would be 4th choice for us

I was thinking about this scenario today on my way to work. lol.

Absolutely don't think it would happen, but if Spurs did win tonight and we went and beat United on Sunday, it would be a wild last few matches.

I’m still in disbelief looking at the table. We’re in late, late April and we’re 5th(!)(fifth, cinco, fem, fimm).

And we have a cup final specialist for our next five cup finals. It’s in our hands.

Weeeelllll. Whilst I'm loving the optimism, I think we need a bit of a reality check here. If the three teams below us win their games in hand they will be above us and we'll be 8th, so while it is a good position to be in, we need to not go mental as a fan base if we drop a bit (not that i'm implying you would, I mean the wider 'we').

My predictions for the remaining games W,W,W,W,W. 69 points European Football and a whole load of Kenneth masks at Villa park for when the squad do their lap.

Yep, Man Utd draw tonight then we do them at the very old trafford ground and we can still catch them and/or Newcastle. We deserve 3rd place, can't we just write off that slippery start to the season?

Brighton are going to fall away IMO, their squad is stretched to the absolute limit with injuries, which will be compounded with the number of fixtures they have to play.  Have a look at their forum, it's in meltdown after last night's defeat.

Last night the played a 20 year old up front and an 18 year old (making his first start) as the AMC, and a midfielder at right back.  That would be like us starting Duran and Tommi O'Reilly up front, and having Dendoncker at RB.  Does anybody think we'd be winning games if we did? If the answer is no, then why would Brighton?

Yeah but it’s a false position because Man U have games in hand.  I think we have to take that into reality. We have to do as well as possible and see where that leaves us.  Our games in hand make us look higher and I’d prefer points in the bank but it does give us elevated position over reality if we had all played same amount of games.

Yes I mentioned that before but Arteta has made the mistake of burning out his better players like Saka

The general point about their difficult situation stands but Gross at right back isn't an anomaly for them. He's been used that way - successfully too - quite a bit this season.

Man ure are 5 points above us with 3 games in hand. The draw at Brentford put a stop on any slight CL dreams we had.

We need man ure to beat spurs and man ure to get a couple players go off injured, ideally gk and cb as that's where they have least cover, just niggles that keep them out for Sunday. Oh and rat face to also still be out for Sunday.

If we win our 5 and Brighton lose 2 games, no one can catch us in 5th, Liverpool and Brighton finish a point behind if both win all their games but lose to us.

I doubt it, while the title race is all but over, it’s only over if City take most of the points they have left to play for.  As for Arsenal game that’s in three games time so Arsenal are still in the title race and only if City slip up can they win so unless Arsenal have imploded they still need to do the business and I’m guessing with nothing else to play for will want to prove they deserve to be where they are and not total bottlers.

Arsenal a total bottlers. They'll lose to Newcastle and that ends the league with 3 games to play.

Yep - definitely need Spurs finished off. We're not getting a CL place so Utd and Newcastle winning is fine - particularly against Spurs and Brighton.

That maybe so but they are still a quality team and then maybe without the pressure of the league battle their next game against Brighton they can play freely against Brighton and smash them.  Remember Arsenal are now only playing one game per week and Brighton playing two games per week and this game will be at the Emirates, and they are in the league because how good they are.  They will bottle the title but still a brilliant team who just caved under pressure.
