Relegation Battle - 22/23

Looking at the table Southampton losing tomorrow might not be enough in of itself to keep us out of the bottom three, as it stands we both have identical records at the moment, same points, goal difference, goals conceded, goals scored, so if they were to lose 1-0 but we were to lose 2-0 then we would drop into the relegation zone.

If both of us lose tomorrow then who loses by the biggest margin will determine who stays out of the bottom three, if we were to lose by the same scoreline as them then that would be enough to keep us out of the three.

It's so close down there that we could drop into the bottom three tomorrow and then come back out of it next Saturday without even playing.

We weren't in relegation trouble for majority of last season.

Our squad is about 10th-12th imo, possibly a 9th if Emery can get consistent form out of 2-3 of our best players.

We were in the same position last year when we binned off the tea boy.

Dont worry we will beat Man United tomorrow

There's actually a bizzare scenario where we could drop into the bottom three tomorrow then lose again against Brighton but somehow find ourselves outside the bottom three after that hypothetical defeat. I say 'bizzare' it wouldn't take the most outlandish set of results for it to happen..

lets hope we start to turn the corner quickly, this is the worst start to a season after 13 games since we were promoted, thats mind boggling considering the investment in the squad.

It's gonna be a really, really hard season. As someone mentioned not many teams have shit managers anymore. And you have Marsch seemingly unconquerable, forest and Bournemouth scrapping for their lives. Soton could slip but if they sack Ralph they could get a new manager bounce.Emery is coming I with a tricky run. There's every chance we could be bottom at the world cup break. But every point will be crucial and with half a season and the league so tight I think we'll fly up in the second half of the season.

Embarrassing. Must-have disappointed you the promotion, the cup final and the 55 point season among others

Luckily you were fully in for his replacement who didnt know the difference between tactics and tic tacs

It’s a bit early in the season to be looking at what other teams are doing. Every season it takes around the 36-40 points mark to stay up. There’s still 25 games or 75 points to play for.

There are teams sat in the top half who could easily go on losing runs and end up in the relegation battle. Leicester were bottom of the league not too long ago and will have ambitions of a top half finish given their recent run of form.

Leicester have better players than we do.

We’ve had a relatively kind run of games up until this point and our points total is woeful.

Emery is a quality manager that will hopefully help us but I honestly think we’ll be hovering around the relegation zone all season.

Impossible for us to drop into the bottom three now before the world cup as Forest and Wolves can't catch us before then and Bournemouth and Everton playing each other next week means that it's only possible for one of them to catch us.

Not looking good for Wolves unless they can beat Arsenal, otherwise they will go into the World Cup break at least three points adrift of safety. They need a similar result at home to Arsenal that we had against United today, I thought it was Lopetegui's first game but seems not.
