Some players just fit certain clubs, we've bought prolific strikers who have done little with us, moved them on and start scoring again. Davis brought other players like johnson more into scoring positions, they just don't have that target man now to hold things up

We bought players who looked good and they didn’t work at our club.

It’s different to Keinan who has never looked good at PL level. At all levels he’s scored 14 goals since 2017.

He’s not the player you buy when you want to survive in the Premier League, especially with a fairly big budget.

As far as I'm aware, he's only played for us in the Premier league? It's not like you can say he hasn't performed at other clubs in the Premier league,  and as I say, different players suit different clubs or managers. His strengths are bringing others in and keeping the ball and cbs occupied. He needs a move though as he hasn't been able to do it for our club.

Something,  similar.

Not the same.

Similar.

It worked for us, potentially not for them.

OK, what Forest have done is literally no different to what every promoted side ever have done.  They've signed some players.

Good.

Nobody has ever done it on the scale of them, complete insanity what they have tried when the had half a decent team left from their promotion winning side.

Hwang Ui-jo, Loic Bade and Gustavo Scarpa? Have these people even got on the pitch at any point? I've literally never heard of them.

Yeah Scarpa was playing a bit when he first joined in January but he had issues back in Brazil so hasn't been involved for a while....

Nottingham Forest’s Gustavo Scarpa in Brazil after losing £1m in crypto scam | Nottingham Forest | The Guardian

Nottingham Forest are supporting their midfielder Gustavo Scarpa after he lost almost £1m in a cryptocurrency scam. Forest allowed their January signing to return to Brazil to deal with the matter, where returns on his significant investment were not paid.

Scarpa, who moved to England in November after his contract at Palmeiras expired, has appeared in court in his homeland after trying to regain his money, according to reports in Brazil.

Loic Bade is a really strange one even by Forest standards. They've been terrible at the back all season yet he didn't make their premier league squad once and they terminated his loan and sent him back to Rennes.

Sevilla then picked him up and he's pretty much started every game for them! Actually scored last night at Valencia in a crucial 2-0 win. They were putting Steve Cook infront of him and then left Cook out of the premier league squad when they re-jigged it in January!

Their fans don't have a clue either what happened:

Dosen't Hwang play for Wolves.....no clue on that one sorry!

Bosko Balaban scored 14 in 27 for Dinamo Zagreb before signing for us. So maybe him.

Or maybe Marlon Harewood who had a 1 in 3 for West Ham before signing for us. Probably means Scott Hogan though who scored 21 in 33 for Brentford before signing for Villa. Not long before that he was even more prolific at Rochdale and Woodley Sports.

They really didn't - I don't understand how people get this so wrong so regularly :D

From the side that got promoted, they lost:
Their first choice goalkeeper
Both wing backs
2 back up centre backs
2 First choice midfielders
Their first choice striker and also their backup striker

They also sold/released a load of squad fillers.

If you watched Forest last season, the success they were getting were from the wing backs bombing on up the pitch and causing havoc.  Djed Spence looked absolutely immense (which led to Spurs buying him from Boro).  The only players who were "there" from their first team squad last season were Worrall, Cook, McKenna, Yates, Johnson and Surridge - of those, Cook isn't good enough (arguably McKenna too, although I think he won their player of the season) and Surridge was essentially their third choice striker.

Maybe they didn't need 30 players, but 20 really isn't that far off what was required to almost stand still in terms of squad depth.

If they had stopped at 15 it would have been sensible. Last season they had an incredibly settled side with great momentum by the end of the season. Why they didn't try and keep as much of that together is a mystery as they showed in the FA cup they could dismantle PL teams too. Spence could have been attainable on loan from Spurs, his move there has been a disaster for him. Garner and Davis might not be brilliant but both were settled and crowd favourites. With the resources they have both were very attainable. Cook and Colback were the 2 who don't have the legs for PL football but both could have been grand to have around for experience.

Like at Chelsea I can only imagine how difficult it has been to organise training with such numbers, there is a reason top teams like to have tight squads.
