I don't think Dougie was as shit of a DM as VillaTalk would have you believe...  He's going to turn into a star under Mourinho at Roma.

I also expect he'll go on to a very successful career, but I think it may be best for both parties to end things here; he wouldn't go on to have that career with us.

The £30M figure for Conor Gallagher has come from Ashley Preece, he's quoted as saying that...

'Aston Villa are aware of Conor Gallagher's situation with the 22-year old expected to fetch a fee of around £30m if he leaves Chelsea'.

I think he's stating the obvious in saying that we are aware of his situation, and the £30M fee is just guesswork.

There isn't a chance in hell Chelsea would let Gallagher leave for £30m. I'd expect it to be closer to £45-50m tbh. He's a very good, young English midfielder that has a good chance of going to the World Cup. You don't get players like that for £30m.
As always, it's just Preece being a complete and utter muppet.

I reckon he’ll go for around 35m.  They let Tammy go for 36m and he had played quite a few games for Chelsea.

Jesus wept. If you're going to make figures up, make them realistic.

£30m shows a bit of a lack of understanding. See it with some fans, but you should have some sort of idea of the market as a journalist.

They wanted 60-70 million from Arsenal/Spurs but sold him cheaper to Roma as he went abroad with a buyback clause

Yes.

Teams with money you ask more from, it's very simple.

Marina doodah has left hasn't she? The owners should get her in to replace Purslow if she's interested.

Expecting them to sell Gallagher cheaply is madness. They might sell for 30m to a team on the continent, but in England they'll be asking at least 40m for him,  probably 50m if it's someone they consider a rival.

We're miles away from the more solid rumours about where he's going,  Newcastle, Everton, and Crystal Palace all more likely destinations at the moment.

Not official but yes she would. Be no sentimentality from her

Ok, I appreciate he's versatile (and that we haven't been linked to him apparently), but would you honestly want to choose a player for a key position (cm) who - it cannot be argued - plays almost all his club games at left back or left mid?
This isn't a squad player we're talking about, it's a significant investment. I strongly believe we need somebody who is a specialist at the position.

I look at the player, not the position.  He has played at an international level in midfield, technically and positionally I think he is excellent, he has played full back as Pep seems to love converting midfielders to wing backs.

I know we haven’t been linked to either Hojberg or Zinchenko, but I still maintain they would massively improve our midfield

I don’t rate him, we get wound up about Dougie and SJM being headless chickens, this bloke is twice as bad.

Was all over the place positionally for England and I don’t mean in a dynamic way.  Not worth the money for me

He's had one good season, yes,  but its been a bloody good one. Everybody was shit in that England performance. I cant believe anybody would call Luis a headless chicken. Far more mobile than McGinn a better passer and much more of a goal threat. Not sure about 50m yet after 1 season in the top flight but well worth 35 odd. Maybe with plenty of add ons. I guess, is he in Chelsea's plans or not?

If the sold him for £30m-40m there would be a tonne of add-ons and clauses included.

Which is right I think. If you end up paying through the nose then its because he's proved himself.

It just means if he did well for us say, then got a move to City or Liverpool etc for big money, we wouldn't get as much
