DM is where we all know the money needs to be spent.

We are utterly stocked with 8's and 10's. We've seen this season that once a decent performance is put in (early season Nakamba and latterly Tim/Chambers) at 6 then our midfielders are actually able to perform properly.

Indeed without a stable basis for play expressive players can’t do their job and they have the ball less

Which one of Buendia or Coutinho would you drop for him?

He's a player that doesn't fit our system - he's a 4-3-3- man.

I do think he'd work in the two 10s system alongside Coutinho or Buendia. As Lingard is one of those goal scorers

I still don't think we should sign him as we don't need him. We need another CF we're clearly well stocked at 10

I appreciate that sometimes injury crisis’ can hit, but I hope that this upcoming transfer window brings our squad to a place where we have specialists playing in all the important positions on the park.

Not a fan and probably never will be.

But to be fair his points haul since taking over mid season is decent. He's done it in a weird - a run victories followed by a run of defeats.

I can't really criticise his points haul so far. My fear has always been that he will undertake a massive overhaul in the summer - rather than add to what imo is already  decent squad of players.

We definitely need a CDM - Ollie + Ings have recently found there shooting boots - but another striker wouldn't go amiss in my book.

I don't think the current squad is far off being a decent team. I just hope we don't tear it up and start again based on a whim from Stevie G.

I think Luiz and Sanson leave and a CDM and 8 are added.

I think we sign a new CB and CF. Left Back too.

Apart from that very impressive purple patch at West Ham with 9 goals Lingard has 35 career goal at Man U over 232 games, or 29 goals in 165 career PL games in total. It's not terrible for an attacking midfielder but hardly great either.

He turns 30 in December and will be out for a last big pay day. Signing him seems like a terrible idea as we already have senior players for that position and also talented academy players who will hopefully be fighting for the same positions.

I have seen Lingard play a good few times but whats his actual position as every game a different position. I dont think he has ever looked great when I saw him

The fact he has played so many games for united is an indication of where United are.

He’s a good premier league player but was never good enough for them. If he hadn’t come from the academy he would never have played a game for united.

Also if Atletico sign Kamara we surely can get Kondogbia off them. I am very happy with either of those players

Yeah if the situation really is the way the papers are making out. We should be in a win/win situation here. Ideally Kamara, if not, Kondogbia is a very good addition too. Probably even makes more chances for Iroegbunam if that's the way it falls too as he's further into his career.

That’s got some goals in in, but I imagine every game would end about 6-5.

To us though, right?

The beauty of stacking so many players in the box is that Suarez will never have to try and run.

II can see SG going for a 20+ goal striker. We need to put away more of the chances we get.

I have to be honest, I don’t find that our strikers are spurning lots of chances on a regular basis, sure you get the odd game now and then like the Spurs 0-4 defeat where we were wasteful, but I find more often than not that it’s the lack of clear cut chances that lets us down.

That said if we went for a 20+ goal striker, I think I could get on board with it! 😂

I think he’ll stick with Ings and Ollie. CDM and CB are where our problems are.

Where would you play Lingard in our system then?

As a striker instead of Watkins/Ings?

I think his best position has been in an AM role. Again, I like Buendia and Coutinho. We also have Bailey, Carney and Traore to think of also. The more I am reading and hearing about Lingard's attitude - I wouldn't sign him.
