maybe gerrad hasbnt got a big pot of money to spend

we've signed 4 players this summer already. This is double the amount that any other team has made so far: 3 teams have signed 2 first team players and 2 have signed one first team player. The rest have not made any other signings. Don't think we can be complaining about spending.

I was with you until this. Mcginn and Cash's value have increased multiple times and were bought from weaker leagues. These are great examples of finding gems.

It sounds like you want us to be searching around non-league level for the next Jamie Vardy for all our signings.

As good as Vardy is, he HAD to go to lower teams first as well. When he first signed for Leicester they were mid table in the Championship and most of their fans rated him as a decent player to come of the bench and use his work rate. They all said they'd need better if they were to want to get promoted. Had a PL team signed Vardy instead of Leicester he wouldn't have played barely at all and wouldn't have developed in the phenomenal way he has.

Signing these types of players is easier the lower down the ranks you are. If Brighton sign 5 players for £5m each and they finish 8th-16th and eventually sell one of them for £25/30m that's a great achievement for them, if we did that our owners wouldn't be happy as they have more ambitions than that

We have finished above them once in the league pyramid in the last 6 seasons and apparently some on here dont actually recognise that season as was behind closed doors

I bet they arent jealous of us

Two clubs with completely different goals. If Brighton fans had the choice of signing kamara, Carlos, coutinho or finding players to potentially sell for profit a few seasons later I’d be very surprised if they didn’t choose what we’re doing now. A club pushing for top 7 can’t be relying on youth and potential

a club pushing for top 7 shouldnt be finishing 14th either, but thats way it is

Hopefully for the 8 position it wasn't just Bissouma and no one else, massive error if that's the case.

Think it's just a simple case of club closer to where he is coming in for him. And of course they can offer CL football so you have to be realistic in these situations until the time we can offer what Spurs do.

Pretty impressive from them. Already have two good DMs but not content to think that's enough. We need to do same otherwise we're putting crazy pressure on Kamara to hit the ground running.

Leicester and West Ham have in recent times

Signing Soucek was a big one for West Ham. Him and Rice a very solid combination. Hopefully Kamara is our Rice in the 6 position so now we need to try to find some sort of Soucek hybrid for the slightly more advanced central midfield position, someone who's physically strong, can chip in with goals and pass o.k.

That's not easy so hopefully we use the next month to line up someone with those qualities.

Just going in with McGinn playing every single minute again from August would feel very underwhelming to me regardless of business we do in other areas of the pitch.

you can do both though and thats what well organised teams do

for example Real Madrid picked up Valverde and Barcelona got Pedri for around 5 million each and they didnt sign them to sell them

Matt Cash and Enzri Konsa say hello.

Shame but means we can sign Ndombele on the cheap to partner his French mate Kamara.

Lyon have an option to but for 55 million and he is on nearly 200k a week 😂

£25mill is a good price for him considering the hype and interest from other clubs.

Does make you wonder how much competition there actually is for his signature.
