Absolute class.

The ball sticking in that final third makes such a difference.

In fact, you could see the change when McGinn and Coutinho came on. We were much more careless with the ball.

Archer seems to be able to make it stick as well. Would be nice for him to get more time rotating with Watkins.

Wha?

Almost everything ran through him, and he was getting kicked around the place repeatedly too. He was brilliant.

He did lose it a couple times to and have some stray passes to be fair.

However, on the whole, yes, he was great.

I’d rather a number lose the ball trying defence splitting passes and trying to be creative than risking nothing and being passive.

Exactly this. Give him a few more games and he will hopefully get even better after finally having a decent run in the team with a capable system and person in charge and without worrying about whether he will be back on the bench next time.

Exactly. It happens when you actually try to play football. Even the best players in the world give it away sometimes, trying things.

Unlike Coutinho who just gives it away constantly.

That was the problem under Gerrard. He'd get one start, be on periphery of game and then instantly be benched again the next week.

He should be starting every single game up to world cup now to get rhythm as there is simply no contest between him and Coutinho currently.

His vision alone is an invaluable asset - he sees and attempts passes that many players would not. They might not come off all the time but you've always got a chance of scoring with someone who can spot runners and opportunities like he can.

To say he was criminally wasted by Gerrard is an understatement.
