I had no idea she was ill but I saw her and Damian Lewis interviewed together on BBC Breakfast only 3 or 4 weeks ago and I actually googled her age as I was suprised at how much older she looked than him. When there was only a couple of years difference I just assumed it was due to the poor quality home webcam picture. I guess she was just very very ill. Steven Knight presumably knew. I know it's the last series but there is talk of movies etc. Aunt Polly dying would be an earth shattering story line.
