Was just thinking about this myself after reading the speculation. I like similar things they do well so probably wouldn't bother to send Barkley back in January and try to loan Alli. Both have gone off the boil somewhat these past 2 seasons or so, both are massively talented. I know Alli is accused of being lazy in the Amazon documentary but poch is a known hard taskmaster and he thrived under him so not so sure to that would be a reason not to go for Alli if the option arose. Of the two I think Dele has higher level as a player given what he was showing 3 years ago, just lost his way badly. The is a reason why Alli isn’t getting a sniff at Spurs and it’s because his attitude is crap and his work rate is pathetic. Having seen that Spurs series doco on Amazon and info and comments since then on Alli he doesn’t have the right attitude at all given his talent. Barkley by a country mile for me. He’s still got that quality and if it doesn’t work you’ve only paid his wages and perhaps a small loan fee. We won’t get a look in though if PSG are sniffing around. But it does look like the game has considerably less than 100% of his efforts and attention nowadays. Mourinho tried his best to reignite him if the documentary was anything to go by, as he has the potential to be one of their best players, but looks like he’s now decided it’s a lost cause.
