Your favourite Villa XI - in your lifetime

Note: i didnt say "best", i said favourite, but if you want to put best that's also fine.

Only other caveat is that it needs to be within your lifetime AND a player you remember playing from when you first started supporting Villa.

I started supporting Villa in the early 90s, so here. is my favourite team since then.

                    Bosnich

     Mellberg - Laursen - Barry

Young - Milner - Petrov - Grealish

              Merson - Yorke

                      Carew

Found the club (or the club found me?) shortly before Lerner bought it. A mix of favorites and "bests" in the years I've been watching, though one player I loved to watch ruined himself in my mind to the point I couldn't include him.

                      Friedel

     Mellberg - Laursen - Bouma

         Milner - Petrov - Barry

    Albrighton - Grealish - Young

                     Benteke

For me the 93-94 coca cola cup winning team.

Bosnich

Barret-Mcgrath-Teale-staunton

Atkinson-Richardson-Townsend-Daley

Fenton

Saunders

But I did love other players as well like: Ehiogu, Draper, Yorke, Milosovic, Barry, Milner, Taylor, Joachim, Tommy Johnson, Wright, Dublin, Merson, sure there is more just can't think at this moment.

I would say Southgate, but I wonder why no one ever really says him in threads like this, maybe it's because he's England manager and being a tool with our Jacky Boy has something to do with it lol.

Guess I should say Bosnich, but can't remember much of him. Friedel/Schmeichel/Heaton maybe? No idea.

Mellberg - Laursen - UDLC - Delaney-  Wright

Petrov - Milner - Merson

Carew JPA

Honourable mentions to Grealish, Taylor and Bouma.

Barry deserves no mention.

Doesn't matter how attacking with that back 3 and goalie. They'd have kept any attack out.

Rimmer, Gidman, Staunton, McGrath, Mings, Rioch, Mortimer, Cowans, Morley, Little & Gray. Subs: Withers, Curtis, Chico, Jack, Graydon, Saunders & Anderson. :flag:

Copied this as it is SO close to mine. ( which I doodled the other night )..

What’s the chances of two such similar “ favourites” over such a period ?

Rimmer, Gidman, Staunton, McGrath, Evans, Rioch, Mortimer, Cowans, Jack, Little, Gray.....Subs : Cumbes, Phillips, Chico Hamilton, Morley, Graydon, Saunders, Willie Anderson

Id forgotten Withers, great shout !

And your favourite ? I’m so torn as Bruce Rioch was my biggest hero, Little my favourite player, Mortimer the one I think had the biggest impact.

So I guess it’s Sir Brian 👍

It could have been even closer, because Evans was a coin toss away from getting in. Brian has and wil! always walk on water, for me as well. I guess great minds and all that..😊

Bosnich

Delaney, Laursen, McGrath, Staunton

Milner, Cowans, Platt

Yorke, Benteke, A Young

Madness that I couldn't find room for the likes of Barry, Saunders, JPA, McInally, Daley, Merson, Carew etc.
