There’s a long way to go before we get a chance to try and labour will no doubt contrive a way of f***ing it up before then. Onto the welcome news of the vaccine - why do the government feel the need to claim credit for it (or embarrassingly try to shoehorn in Brexit as a reason?) They should just be thanking the companies that developed vaccines and the personnel it will take to distribute it.

HanoiVillan
Apologies if this has been shared before, but I think some were asking about it - possibly @sharkyvilla? - and it's pretty useful: This seems to have decreased from 10 levels to 9 somewhere along the way. I find it hard to believe that it will be possible to justify lockdowns by the end of stage 4 TBH. It's Your Round
Cool, this means my wife will be in the first stage of vaccinations. I should add that I’m not married to a 90 year old, my missus just works there

And it was also entirely predictable. If you send a load of young adults into communal lodgings, deprive them of "normal" social opportunities, make them pay for it, then implement a lockdown... are they gonna break the rules, given they are (from their perspective) unlikely to suffer any Covid problems. We think differently to teenagers. Teenagers and early 20s are frequently bell ends - I was. "Don't do that" is like an invitation to "do that", and it's amplified by all the restrictions they get put on them. Yes, they're no blameless, yes they are many of them numpties, but the bigger numpties are the ones who sent them back to Uni at the time they did.

As for Care home workers, there are about 1.5 mil people working in Adult Social Care but they won't all be in a Care / Nursing Home situation No idea on the people with the illnesses NHS staff is 1.3 mil but may not all be classed as Front Line And some people may fall into more than one category
