Presumably the whole of the south-west?

Possibly.

I know that lines have to be drawn somewhere but I'm not totally convinced by the county approach.

Edit: Actually, I'm unconvinced.

So wonder how long these tiers will stay or get changed again? The last lot lasted about 2-3 months before failing?

Personally I want 42 levels topped off by Mark King playing slap bass.

They're supposed to be reviewed every 14 days.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're reviewed before next Wednesday.

Passports at the ready for a quick nip to the pub across the border.

You cant travel outside tier 3

Frankly, this looks like a disaster, which if it is as bad as it appears, risks damaging faith in vaccines more broadly, strengthening the hand of vaccine skeptics and covid denialists, reducing take-up for the more effective Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and trashing the reputation of British science and academia.

Just on the vaccine sceptics thing, I’ve been having an ongoing battle with one of my mates who’s very much of the position “Well I won’t be going near the vaccine, it’s been rushed, side effects etc etc”.

While this obviously isn’t good news for this particular vaccine, at the very least shouldn’t it go some way to dispel the notion that due diligence isn’t being carried out and therefore should a vaccine become ready, it’s cleared the required standards?

I appreciate that at best that would only be a minor consolation and it probably wouldn’t appease many sceptics.

Warwickshire goes into a month-long lockdown in Tier 1.

One-month lockdown happens.

Warwickshire emerges from month-long lockdown in Tier 3.

Impressive stuff.

Boris, would you say the lockdown has been a success?
