UK has ordered 114m extra vaccine doses to cover 2022 and 2023.  Meanwhile Pfizer boss says annual boosters will be needed for years to come.

Mind you, he's got quite a vested interest in that hasn't he!

Got my Moderna booster yesterday. Looking forward to a Pfizer in another 6 months then I'll be pretty close to collecting the whole set.

Meeting on Monday to talk around whether we are cancelling the Christmas Party.

I wasn’t going anyway, indoor socialising 7 days before Christmas with my family when Christmas with my family was cancelled last year? Nein Danke, Dim Diolch.

But there is no bloody way that I’ll be voting to cancel the Christmas Party for others.

Our colleague who organised the xmas dinner for next week has decided she's not going, which in fairness to her is totally understandable. She's been readying to go to Australia to visit her son and grandkids who she hasn't seen in 2 years. I think we've basically all told her, she should just work from home the couple of weeks before her flight.

Got a horrible feeling the hospitality industry which has been the very worst affected and hanging on by fingertips, desperate for Christmas which is by far the biggest money spinner are going to get whopped again.

I think a lot will depend on how our figures are looking next week and how the Omicron strain looks in the next few weeks.

Travel industry another that will be in crisis again.

So many people like us will have cancelled holidays because they cannot isolate for an unknown period of time when they get their PCR test results back.

TUI allowed us to move our booking for free (the holiday is still going ahead so I guess it’s quite fair of them), it was only 2 weeks away, the paperwork has a £2,500 right off of amendment fees. Due to the proximity of the departure date I expect they still have to pay the hotel and will struggle to refill the seats on the flight.

Germany moving to 2G+ rules

means that if you want to go anywhere, bar, restaurant or hair cut etc you need to be vaccinated and have had a PCR test 48 hours before

the tests have gone back to being free at least but what a load of bollocks

Do you need to provide identity cards to a bloke in a black leather trench coat?

Remember to always answer in French!!!!!!!!

last year they had bouncers on the door for masks been a while since ive seen one though

im guessing they'll be back, the wife thinks they're going to make it that you have to show a test to get in to non grocery shops too

edit - its not a test its just a vaccinated cert, so if you arent jabbed you are not allowed in shops

Country after country now confirming they've found  Omicron cases.  I suspect it's been around for ages but no **** has noticed it till South Africa did.

I just noticed the date on my domestic COVID passport has changed. First it was 18th Nov (which was 5 months), then it was 18th Dec (6 Months) but now its 1st January 2022.

I have my booster booked for Monday but it appears to me to be the govt saying, you're double jabbed, enjoy xmas, why else would they randomly extend it?

It's one month in the future. So that if you create a physical copy, it's got a short expiry.
