New signing for the ladies team

Aston Villa Women are thrilled to announce the signing of Jordan Nobbs on a permanent deal, subject to FA approval.

The England international joins the club from Arsenal on an 18-month contract, with an option to extend.

Nobbs adds serious pedigree to Villa’s ranks having won the Barclays WSL (x3), Vitality Women’s FA Cup (x4) and FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup (x5) in her time with the Gunners.

The 30-year-old midfielder has almost 70 international caps to her name and will hope to hit the ground running in claret & blue.

Good signing.

I noticed Spurs signed Beth England yesterday. She would have been a good signing as well.

Nice to see the bigger name players joining teams outside the top 4

Nobbs the needed No.8, good attacking stats, 30 Goals and 21 Assists in 88 WSL appearances.Definitley an higher profile of player we're signing now.
Emma Sanders saying we're still hoping to sign Lucy Staniforth and that a winger is also a target.

Why are these players moving from top clubs to come to Villa. Quite the opposite then what happens in the Prem for obvious reasons.

I imagine that as we've started to look like a solid midtable side with little to no chance of relegation, we offer a chance for players with international careers that they want to continue but who have found themselves on the bench at a top side to get back into a starting XI every week. I assume we're also paying pretty well too.

At the start of the window it was stated that we wanted a midfielder and a winger/wide forward, we've signed two midifelders, so will be interesting to see if we still go for another forward, or whether we see Nobbs as the player that can add goals, assists, and creativity to the team. Nobbs and Staniforth will also allow us to play Dali futher forward, so that will give us an extra option as well.

Basically the Stevie G of the womens game. Very impressed

She's brilliant.

So... Daly and Dali, Nobbs and now Staniforth since the summer, impressive additions to the first team in a short time! A significant improvement, we should be at least mid-table from now on, not in the bottom third anymore.
