Douglas Luiz

Terrible news, we have now regressed if this true.

Dougie is the type of player that we will look back on in 4 years time and realise the talent we missed out on like an Idrissa Gueye

The reality is that none of our managers knew how to use a player with his ability because he is a continental type of player that has a high footballing IQ which means he can play as a 6 and 8.

If he leaves, the club has f***ed this with all the irrelevant promo ect.. poor from the club..

The outgoing of Luiz isn't a disaster, it's good business sense seeing that Luiz won't sign a new contract.

The disaster is our manager and possibly our last day incomings.

the disaster was letting it happen as a result of the manager.

If he’s really pushing for it then we should just get the best we can and let him go unfortunately.

Should’ve never got to this stage in the first place though.

agreed.

23/25m for a player who has 1 year left on their contract, and is pushing to go.

Or, keeping him, getting nothing in the summer, and having an unhappy player on our books for the rest of the season.

23/25m will help our finances, overall i would sell.

I'd rather let his contract run out at this stage, we are already short of midfielders, we can't afford to lose one of our best ones. Selling him without getting another midfielder in means we're probably in the Championship next season, which will cost us a lot more than the 30mil we'd get by selling him.

The only way you can justify selling him is if he is replaced with a big signing of similar ability.

We can't just let him go. He's misused by the idiot in charge, but he's one of the few midfielders we have that can make the midfield work at all. Letting him go just weakens us, and the money doesn't soften the blow.

It’s a shame if we lose him but he’s not irreplaceable. I imagine 25m, plus a couple of million in add ons will do it. No point keeping an unhappy player who walks for free in 9 months.

You realise we only have seven or eight hours to find a replacement right?

Luiz is going anyway, he's not going to sign a new contract so we should try get as much cash right now to re-invest for future windows.

A very decent player who probably can go up another level, but he's been a mainstay of our struggling midfield since our return to the prem, good player but currently being overhyped due to a combo or current poor coaching/tactics and midfield options.
