With all this talk of Elmo and El Ghazi fasting for Ramadan, did anybody notice their little prayer routine at the final whistle? Kneeling heads down on the turf alongside each other (they clearly hadn't worked out which way was was East, mind). Makes a change from the Catholics crossing themselves and looking heavenwards, I suppose.

I think they did it after the goals too. 

Think it’s pretty common for Muslim players to do that.

Got back this afternoon. Football doesn't get better than that. So glad that those of us that have witnessed the glory days, got to do it again and that the younger ones among us got to get a taste of how good it can feel to be a Villain. Our team has earned a place in our club's proud history this season.

Stayed at the same hotel as the team did last night and I can vouch for the fact that they do have a lot of time for us supporters. Special shout out for the players that might not be playing for us next season, but still celebrated so whole heartedly yesterday. A tremendous weekend, a special squad and a super management team.

I’m still struggling to put all the emotions from monday into words. I don’t think I can, not sure I ever could.

It was a great day all round. Meeting all the guys from VT was a pleasure - @GarethRDR, @mjmooney, @Stevo985, @StefanAVFC, and the biggest Villa fan ever in Stef’s brother as well - it was lovely meeting you all. If I forgot, thanks again very much for the drink, Mike, you’re a true gentleman. 

The atmosphere was surreal. Green Man was packed at half ten when we got there. Villa fans everywhere we went. The game, the goals, the win, the celebration, the being back where we belong. 

After the initial manic jumping and hugging random strangers, by full time I was emotionally drained. 

What a day.

I was looking forward to hearing chants and songs from the crowd and all you could hear was that awful **** “we love you villa we do” song. 

 

I'm so glad someone else thought this.  All those standing round me were cursing the music-which was bloody loud-and stopped us properly serenading the team at the end!

Can I just say congratulations?

You were the better team on the day, apart from the last 20 minutes or so.

I kind of understand Frank's game plan, non of our strikers could manage the full 90 so start with the young 3rd choice to tire out your back 4 then blitz you in the last 1/3rd or 1/4 of the game.

Might have worked if we hadn't gifted you 2 soft goals!

Ah well. 

I met up with my boy before the game, (Villa obsessed) and it was really nice, didn't see any trouble, everyone was mingling (shout out to the Punjabi Rams/Villans) 

Nothing better than knowing your kid has experienced one of the best days of his life, so happy for him and all you guys.

Same old 46 game slog for us next season but we're feeling positive for the future.

For you? I think the last 3 seasons have been good,  almost cathartic,  and you'll do well next season  I think somewhere between 12th and 8th.

Now the stickers make sense, did wonder why loads of fans had something about a lucky orange on them.
