DaveAV1
I think if McGinn can burst through the middle it will really add to our attacking play, which hasn’t been particularly inventive. Defenders don’t like players who run directly at them, particularly in the middle of the goal. He can apparently also pick a pass so Hogan running channels may particularly benefit from this. Get Snoddy back and along with The Scottish Cafu they can form a frightening, marauding, Scottish mafia clan! It’s also good he will have a few Jocks around him to help him feel more at home. He’s still only 23.

Really appreciate the effort to come on here and help us understand the player. Thank you.

Django_Zooms
I have completed my research and concur that he is exactly like Hourihane. Only, with no EFL experience. Bruce must really think that Lansbury and Thor are utterly useless. Despite most evidence being to the contrary.

I say Grealish. I mean I love the man but I dont want him getting too comfortable and he had a bad game against Hull, send the lad a message. Just kidding I do wonder whose slot he will take though. Popular Post newhavenhibby Posted August 11, 2018 Visiting Supporter Popular Post Share Posted August 11, 2018 I must admit I have followed the love in between Hibs and Villa this week since SJM signed. It must seem slightly bizarre to many Villa fans at the outpouring of love towards a player who has now left Easter Road. Most of it is genuine affection for a model professional who always gave his all for the club. Some of it is genuine relief and delight that he didn't go to Celtic which everybody to do with the smellies thought he would do. I of course wish the player well and will follow his development with interest and see if he is able to take the next step up in his career. Mentally I have no doubts and it remains to see how he will cope with the strength and speed of the game in the Championship. You will certainly get used to him shielding the ball with his erse I myself spent all my teenager years singing my heart out at the back of the Holte ( as my dad had done before) and was brought up on players like Charlie Aitkin, Brian Little, Bruce Rioch and also ex Hibbys, Des Bremner and Alex Cropley . Many happy memories also of travelling to away games with the claret and blue fans and also trips to Wembley and of course Rotterdamin 82. Within a short time of going regularly to Villa Park we got a young lad from Dundee United called Andy Gray who didn't turn out to badly.......just hope SJM can make the same impact. Good luck with the season and hopefully you will get promotion and back to where such a big club belong. GGTTH
Vive_La_Villa
If he is that good I do wonder why more clubs weren’t in for him. Or maybe they were?
newhavenhibby Posted August 11, 2018 Visiting Supporter Share Posted August 11, 2018 (edited) He is still developing so is an unknown quantity at your level. Mentally very strong and on his day can pass the ball superbly. It was always assumed especially by Smeltic that he would go there so no other Scottish Clubs came in ( apart from the huns nobody else could afford him) and although he had talks with Bournemouth he chose Villa.......wanted to join a big club Edited August 11, 2018 by newhavenhibby
