I know, I know, in your day a disco always involved a glitter ball, flares and John Travolta. You're both off if Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran are headlining I'd say it's either teenage kids or middle class moms.
Popular Post StefanAVFC
DUP/Tory deal agreed apparently. Worth up to 1.5b Some magic money tree that.
Davkaus
Only £1.5bn? Another year of cutting nurses' pay in real terms will pay for bribes to prop up the tories many times over.
Chindie Posted June 26, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted June 26, 2017 (edited) Norn Iron with more money? Well i never. Spending over there is already an outlier per capita in the UK, especially on health. Edited June 26, 2017 by Chindie

Straggler
So we can't fund the NHS properly, support our emergency services, provide decent equipment in schools, make our housing safe to live in and have hundreds of hard working people use food banks because there is no magic money tree, but we can find 1 billion pounds to bribe the DUP and risk the Good Friday Agreement, so good ole Teresa clings on to power with a bunch of homophobic Dinosaurs in tow. No it's so we can have some stability during the brexit talks. She doesn't want the job but it's the one she has been chosen to do. She's being selfless and is definitely not a power-mad, crazy, creepy, lizard.
Popular Post chrisp65
It's proving to be one of the most expensive holiday's ever, that walking holiday in the hills when she realised she just had to call an election even though she didn't really want to. It's not often you end up thinking it would've been cheaper to go to Centre Parcs.

May spends £1bn to prevent Remainers from voting Brexit into oblivion = corrupt politics at its worst. Partisan politics - what's not to like?

One leader puts an expensive policy in their manifesto and let's the electorate vote for it, the other claims there's no money to give nurses a payrise, then spends several times what that would cost on bribing politicians to prop up a failing government. Ignoring the barnett formula and bribing religious fundamentalists wasn't in anyone's manifesto. It's not about Brexit, it's about tories clinging on to power by any means necessary.

Investing in education is the absolute best thing a society can do. Knowledge is power. Resource for that should be above absolutely everything else. She's spending closer to £2b on a bribe to get the DUP to vote with her party at the expense of greater democracy. Agendas - what's to like?

Well, One leader calls a general election three years early, despite having a majority, because opinion polls are in her favour. Lose majority she already had, making calling opportunistic snap election a total waste of time and money, then spends another billion on striking a deal with the DUP; money we wouldn't need to spend if she didn't call election. All while telling public sector workers there's no magic money tree, to their faces. Your accusation of partisan politics is laughable, at best.
