But, there's a reason why a lot of these managers, Bruce, O'Neil, Pulis etc have gone from managing midtable teams in the Premier League, to becoming "Relegation Experts", to dropping down a division and becoming "Promotion Experts", soon they will be "Stability Specialists" in the Championship.

What about Sean Dyche then?

He's in the same mold as Pulis and Steve Bruce ,or stand for the same type of football. And is still coaching in Premier League.

Yep. I personally think he will go the same way as Pulis did after he left Stoke. If Burnley feel like they've hit a ceiling and can't progress any further, they may choose to sack Dyche like Stoke did with Pulis. I imagine Dyche may hang around the lower end of the Premier League for a while before then inevitably dropping. It's hard to judge Dyche in the same vein as Pulis, Bruce, MON etc as he's still relatively new to top flight football. Maybe he will adapt and change his style in ways that those mentioned couldn't. I doubt it very much. I certainly don't see a club "bigger" (or higher in the league) than Burnley going in for him. Though, time will tell on that.

Sean Dyche seems a very humble, emotionally intelligent and self reflective person, I think he will be fine in the long run.
These managers failed because their ego won't allow them to believe their methods no longer work.

His football is shithouse, it's done the job but he has to progress now. Just don't do a Lambert.

Really?! :D

I played for a fairly average boys team, and at 16 we were comfortably better than the club’s womens team who were Norwegian champs. That’s not me trying to belittle the womens game in any way, btw. And I don’t see why a good coach from a womens team couldn’t be a good coach for a mens team.

The medns game is more physical which beats a lot of teams. I went my 1st live women's game last year an international game and the technique was incredible compared to stuff Bruce was producing for Villa at the time

It's not un common for the best women's national teams to practice against 14 year old boy teams and they generally play even with them and on occasion lose. So with evidence that is where their level probably is at. Some people might not want to hear that, but as far as i know that is just facts.

You say Championship, i was more thinking of the conference league and working her way up.

Wouldn't succeed at that level.

USA womens team lost to USA mens U15s in a warm up game in 2017

They are the current world champions

It wasn't the USA under 15s - it was the FC Dallas U15 team.

The boys (not men!) beat the USA Women's national team 5-2.

I don't understand why they do it.

Men/boys and women/girls competing in physical sports where males have a massive advantage is just stupid.

The play-off semi-final where the manager might want his team to LOSE: Henk de Jong leads De Graafschap in relegation battle… against Cambuur, the team he's taking over next season

  • Eredivisie side De Graafschap face Eerste Divisie's Cambuur in a play-off clash
  • A win for Cambuur will see them promoted while relegating De Graafschap
  • However, De Graafschap boss Henk de Jong faces a dilemma ahead of the game
  • De Jong has agreed to become the manager of Cambuur for next season

De Graafschap manager Henk de Jong faces a pretty big dilemma going into his side's biggest game of the season.

De Jong's De Graafschap face relegation to the Eerste Divisie should they fail to beat Cambuur from that division in a promotion-relegation play-off.

However, what makes this two-legged tie that little more interesting for De Jong is that he has already agreed to leave De Graafschap in order to take over at Cambuur next season, which now begs the question – does he want to lose this game to enjoy Eredivisie football next season?
